Correlational studies supporting the link between learners’ multiple intelligences and their learning are superseded by interventionist attempts to explore direct applications of Multiple Intelligence (MI) Theory in language teaching and learning. This quasi-experimental study examined the extent to which engaging ELT major university students in writing tasks, compatible to their dominant inte...

In a previous paper [Berger et al., PNAS 91 7732, 1994], a theory of virus shell formation was proposed in which shell assembly is directed by local interactions of the coat and sca olding subunits. This theory requires that the same chemical subunits assume di erent, stable conformations depending on their position in the shell. During assembly, the conformation of a protein subunit dictates t...

ABSTRACT Background and Objectives: Obesity is a global health problem that could lead to cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer. Polygenic obesity is caused by multiple factors, such as lack of exercise and excess food intake. In this study, we evaluated effects of 12 weeks of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and isocratic moderate-intensity training (MIT) on anthropometric indice...

This paper presents a comparative analysis of continuously stirred tank reactor (CSTR) control based on adaptive control and optimal tuning of PID control based on particle swarm optimization. In the design of adaptive control, Model reference adaptive control (MRAC) scheme is used, in which the adaptation law have been developed by MIT rule & Lyapunov’s rule. In PSO control parameters of PID c...

Thirty-one consecutive infants <1000 g at birth were intubated according to Tochen's rule; placement was verified/modified after auscultation and by radiology. Depth measurements were by caliper and radiology. Tochen's rule alone would lead to inadequate tube placement in 47% of infants. Auscultation allows adequate placement in only three-fourths of patients.

In this paper, the Adomian decomposition method and Modified Technique are successfully applied to find approximate solutions of fuzzy system Volterra integro-differential equations. The obtained have been improved by using iteration integral equation numerical solution with Simpson rule Trapezoidal rule. These proposed methods gave excellent results close exact solution. show that present is v...

We describe resolution proof systems for several modal logics. First we present the propo-sitional versions of the systems and prove their completeness. The first-order resolution rule for classical logic is then modified to handle quantifiers directly. This new resolution rule enables us to extend our propositional systems to complete first-order systems. The systems for the different modal lo...

An analysis is presented of a sparse distributed memory (SDM) inspired by that described by Kanerva [Kanerva, P. (1988). Sparse distributed memory. Cambridge, MA: MIT Press] but modified to facilitate an implementation based on spiking neurons. The memory presented here employs sparse binary N-of-M codes, unipolar binary synaptic weights and a simple Hebbian learning rule. It is a two-layer net...

Because of the patient’s inconsistent data, uncertain Thyroid Disease dataset is appeared in the learning process: irrelevant, redundant, missing, and huge features. In this paper, Rough sets theory is used in data discretization for continuous attribute values, data reduction and rule induction. Also, Rough sets try to cluster the Thyroid relation attributes in the presence of missing attribut...

The external-field method has been used extensively in the QCD sum-rule approach to explore various hadron static properties. In the traditional formalism of this method, the transitions from the ground state hadron to excited states are not exponentially suppressed relative to the ground state term and thus contaminate the ground state hadron property to be extracted. In this paper, we suggest...
