Automatic shot boundarydetection andkeyframe selection constitute major goals in video processing. We propose two different information-theoretic approaches to detect the abrupt shot boundaries of a video sequence. These approaches are, respectively, based on two information measures, Tsallis mutual information and Jensen–Tsallis divergence, that are used to quantify the similarity between two ...

We establish strong convergence result of split feasibility problem for a family of quasi-nonexpansive multi-valued mappings and a total asymptotically strict pseudo-contractive mapping in infinite dimensional Hilbert spaces. Acknowledgement. The authors A. R. Khan and M. Abbas are grateful to King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals for supporting research project IN 121037.

An automated registration system named AISIR (Automated inter-sensor/inter-band satellite image registration) has been designed and implemented for the purpose of registering satellite images acquired using different sensors and spectral bands. Sensor and environmental noise, contrast non-uniformities, and inter-sensor and inter-band intensity mapping differences are addressed in the AISIR syst...

INTRODUCTION World Health Organization had estimated 9.4 million tuberculosis cases on 2009, with 1.7 million of deaths as consequence of treatment and diagnosis failures. Improving diagnostic methods for the rapid and timely detection of tuberculosis patients is critical to control the disease. The aim of this study was evaluating the accuracy of the cord factor detection on the solid medium M...

Exploring the homogenous regions for site specific management is important, especially in the areas under different anthropogenic activities. This was investigated using multi-way analysis including Factor Analysis, Hierarchical Clustering Analysis and k means in the areas under long-term wastewater irrigation over a period of more than 40 years, in Shahre Rey, south of Tehran. By using Factor ...

Many satellite systems take cover images like QuickBird for terrain so that these scan be used to construct 3D models likes Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN), and Digital Elevation Model (DEM). This paper presents a production of TIN Al-Karkh University Science in Baghdad - Iraq using image data with pixel resolution 0.6 m. The recent generations high-resolution imaging open new era digital ...

In this paper, we extend a multi-valued contraction mapping to a cyclic multi-valued contraction mapping. We also establish the existence of common fixed point theorem for a cyclic multi-valued contraction mapping. Our results extend, generalize and unify Nadler’s multi-valued contraction mapping and many fixed point theorems for multivalued mappings. © 2012 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

The significance of synchronized spikes fired by nearby neurons for perception is still unclear. To evaluate how reliably one can decide if a given response on the population coding of sensory information comes from the full distribution, or from the product of independent distributions from each cell, we used recorded responses of pairs of single neurons in primary visual cortex of macaque mon...
