This article discusses a projection method for nonlinear eigenvalue problems. The subspace of approximants is constructed by a Jacobi–Davidson type approach, and the arising eigenproblems of small dimension are solved by safeguarded iteration. The method is applied to a rational eigenvalue problem governing the vibrations of tube bundle immersed in an inviscid compressible fluid.

in this paper, the effects of transverse cracks on rotating shaft were studied. according to earlier works, crack shaft failure decrease the critical speed of the shaft and also exhibit a nonlinear vibration behaviour leading to increases the amplitude of 1x and 2x harmonics (first and second order of rotational speed in torsional vibration). this suggests that the application of order analysis...

This paper presents an analysis of nonsynchronous rotor blade vibrations in the last stage LP steam turbine at various condenser pressures. The nonlinear least squares Levenberg–Marquardt method is used a tip-timing to determine multimode vibrations, which novelty. done with two sensors casing and once-per-revolution sensor. accuracy compared one-mode linear method. algorithm verified by compar...

An analytical solution for nonlinear vibration of an initially stressed beam with elastic end restraints resting on a nonlinear elastic foundation is obtained. As a first step in solving nonlinear vibration equation, the linear vibration mode functions for a beam with elastic end restraints resting on a linear elastic foundation are obtained. Then, the nonlinear vibration equation is solved by ...

Abstract: Microresonators are popular structures used in a variety of applications. They generally operate in the linear region where the vibration amplitude is limited, thereby limiting the signal-to-noise ratio. The nonlinear vibration region, where amplitudes and, consequently, the signal-to-noise ratio are relatively large, is generally avoided owing to instabilities and complexities in ana...
