This paper examines the impact of oil price volatility on macroeconomic performance in fourteen non-oil exporting Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) economies using panel ARDL model fort he 1980-2015. It also looks at channels through which transmit to three major sectors their economies. The estimate indicates how persistent prevailed economy by measuring short run and long effects. result shows that ec...
For portfolio optimisation under proportional transaction costs, we provide a duality theory for general càdlàg price processes. In this setting, we prove the existence of a dual optimiser as well as a shadow price process in a generalised sense. This shadow price is defined via a “sandwiched” process consisting of a predictable and an optional strong supermartingale and pertains to all strateg...
This study examines asymmetric and the lag effects of oil price, gas exchange rate on stock performance Malaysian sub-industries. Using company-level data multi factor asset pricing models, this found that rate, common systematic risk factors such as market, size, book-to-market have significant sub-industries, but these exposures remain heterogeneous. Oil price show strong asymmetrical impacts...
providing of food products for increasing population, enhancing food security, increasing of production and foreign incomes are among the major program purposes of each country and monetary policies are one of the methods that immediately affected on food price and on major agriculture variables. time series analysis was used for studying the impacts of monetary policies effect on food price in...
We introduce product differentiation in the model of price competition with strictly convex costs in which firms have to supply all the forthcoming demand. We find that although a continuum of equilibria exists in a homogeneous product market, the competitive price equilibrium is the only robust one. Specifically, as long as the equilibrium correspondence is nonempty, the equilibrium price conv...
abstract the aim of this study was to selecting the suitable model for forecast land, production and price of sugar beet in iran. for this purpose, models applied to forecast are arima, single and double exponential smoothing, harmonic, artificial neural network and arch for period 1993-2008. results of durbin-watson tests, land, production and price of sugar beet series were found non stochast...
This study examines the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth in the Iranian economy. To that end, a wavelet transformation technique is used, which allows us to combine the time domain and frequency domain characteristics of two time series together. Using this approach and data for the period 1991:2 – 2017:1, this study tries to overcome the shortcomings of standard eco...
Under complete information, for k 3, a seller of a single-unit k-price auction obtains higher revenue than in a first or second price auction when the valuations and the bids are discrete and no bidder is using a (weakly) dominated strategy. 2002 Elsevier Science (USA). We compare multi-object English-type ascending price auctions with first price sealed bid auctions in private values environments with multi-object demands. Special attention is paid to the effect of closing rules on ascending auctions’ outcomes. JEL classification code: C92, D44
We examine the role low-price guarantees allegedly play in supporting supracompetitive prices. We find that when firms can commit to matching or beating any lower price announced by a competitor, all Nash equilibria yield Bertrand selling prices. This result casts doubt on the robustness of the conclusions of models which restrict attention to meet-the-competition clauses only. JEL Classificati...
