The meshless local radial point interpolation (MLRPI) method is applied to examine the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) ow of third grade uid in a porous medium. The uid saturates the porous space between the two boundaries. Several limiting cases of fundamental ows can be obtained as the special cases of present analysis. The variations of pertinent parameters are addressed.
Purpose: Overweight or obese children and adolescents face a lack of confidence in their physical abilities, and show poorer motor and fitness performances, compared to healthy weight peers. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the relationship between physical self-efficacy and VO2 max in healthy weight versus overweight female adolescents. Methods: This was a cross-sectional cor...
reliable estimates of river stream fl ow and fl ood zoning maps are needed for water resourcesmanagement such as fl ood mitigation, water supply, dam construction and irrigation. flood zoning needsaccurate data and is one of the non-structural fl ood management methods. this paper describes theapplication of hec-ras and gis model to determine fl oodplains maps for the part of sardabrud rivertha...
in this study, a temperature-dependent of the dispersion coefficients is calculated from equation state.the lennard-jones lj (12-6-3) effective pair potential function and simple thermodynamic argumentwith the input pvt data of liquid metals are used to calculate the dispersion coefficients. the dispersioncoefficients ( , , ) 3 6 12 c c c are found to be a linear function of 1/t1+α , where t is...
*charts is a formalism for combining nite state machines (FSMs) with various concurrent models of computation. In *charts, the emphasis is on separating the FSM semantics from the concurrency model semantics. Instead of de ning concurrency models, *charts shows how to combine hierarchical FSMs with various existing concurrency models. This paper discusses an implementation of a subset of the *c...
Over the years, computer vision researchers have developed a number of algorithms to solve a large number of problems. However, most of the existing algorithms are not characterized in terms of their performance, accuracy, cost, etc. Consequently, it is hardly ever possible to compare and choose between these various algorithms to tackle a speciic problem. One of the contributions of this paper...
We propose to compute a vector eld, similar to the optical ow computed between successive frames of an image sequence, which maps optimally (in a certain sense) one face image onto another face image. A cost of the mapping is computed and used to quantify the dissimilarity between the two images. The technique is applied to the problem of person identiication by comparing an input face image to...
A hydrological investigation was conducted in a small headwater peatland located in the Experimental Lakes Area, north-western Ontario, Canada, to determine the subsurface and surface ̄ow paths within the peatland, and between the peatland and an adjacent forested upland during base ̄ow and storm ̄ow conditions. Distinct zones of groundwater recharge and discharge were observed within the peatla...
