Pd nanoparticles were well dispersed on a new triptycene-based microporous polymer support by the gas bubbling-assisted membrane reduction (GBMR) method. The stability of Pd nanoparticles is improved by the porous support, and the materials show excellent performance for CO oxidation.

Recent advances on synthesis, characterization, and hydrogen absorption properties of ultrasmall metal nanoparticles (defined here as objects with average size ≤3 nm) are briefly reviewed in the first part of this work. The experimental challenges encountered in performing accurate measurements of hydrogen absorption in Mgand noble metal-based ultrasmall nanoparticles are addressed. The second ...

Phytochemical based synthesis of palladium nanoparticles by bioreduction of medicinally potent plant extract Coleus amboinicus is investigated in the present study. Treatment of palladium chloride with Coleus amboinicus extract resulted in the formation of palladium nanoparticles. The formation of palladium nanoparticles were confirmed using UV-vis, FTIR, TEM and XRD. Polyols such as flavones, ...

Metallic nanoparticles with strong optically resonant properties behave as nanoscale optical antennas, and have recently shown extraordinary promise as light-driven catalysts. Traditionally, however, heterogeneous catalysis has relied upon weakly light-absorbing metals such as Pd, Pt, Ru, or Rh to lower the activation energy for chemical reactions. Here we show that coupling a plasmonic nanoant...

This study focuses on the computational characterization of electrochemical C-C bond formation through CO and CHO coupling process utilizing a dioxo-coordinated Cu single atom site ([CuO2]*) supported Pd(111) surface. The stable intermediate, [CuO2]*(CO)2, was identified as tetradentate-and-tetrahedral species formed upon exposure to gaseous molecules. Electrochemically, hydrogenation carbonyl ...

Graphene-supported bimetallic nanoparticles are promising nanocatalysts, which can show strong and tunable catalytic activity and selectivity. Herein room-temperature-ionic-liquid-assisted metal sputtering is utilized to synthesize PdAu bimetallic nanoparticles on graphene with bare surface, small size, high surface density and controlled Pd-to-Au ratio. This controllable synthetic approach is ...

CdSe quantum dots with a prominent band-edge photoluminescence were obtained by a soft AOT water-in-oil (w/o) microemulsion templating method with an estimated size of 2.7 nm. The CdSe particles were covered with a TiO2 layer using an intermediate SiO2 coupling reagent by a sol-gel process. The resulting CdSe/TiO2 core/shell nanoparticles showed appreciable photocatalytic activity at λ = 405 nm...

over the past decade, many applications were intended for filtration by membrane technology especially the thin film composite (tfc) membranes. in advanced developments of thin film membranes, an attempt was made to spread a new generation of membranes called thin film nano composite (tfn) membranes. however, in the last generation of tfns, an ultrathin selective film of nanoparticles is coated...

Incorporating oxophilic metals into noble metal-based catalysts represents an emerging strategy to improve the catalytic performance of electrocatalysts in fuel cells. However, effects of the distance between the noble metal and oxophilic metal active sites on the catalytic performance have rarely been investigated. Herein, we report on ultrasmall (∼5 nm) Pd-Ni-P ternary nanoparticles for ethan...
