We explore the important role of the strong electron-phonon interaction in high temperature superconductivity through the study of the results of some important experiments, such as inelastic neutron and X-ray scattering, angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy, and isotope effects. We also present our computational results of the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the Ag Raman modes, and the ...

We theoretically examine the effect of a single phonon mode on the structure of the frequency dependence of the ac conductance of molecular junctions, in the linear response regime. The conductance is enhanced (suppressed) by the electron-phonon interaction when the chemical potential is below (above) the energy of the electronic state on the molecule.PACS numbers: 71.38.-k, 73.21.La, 73.23.-b.

It is a common knowledge that the formation of electron pairs is a necessary ingredient of any theoretical work describing superconductivity. Thus, finding the mechanism of the formation of the electron pairs is of utmost importance. There are some experiments on high transition temperature superconductors which support the electron-phonon (e-ph) interactions as the pairing mechanism (ARPES),...

We model the Fock space for the electronic resonant tunneling through a double barrier including the coherent effects of the electron-phonon interaction. The geometry is optimized to achieve the maximal optical phonon emission required by a SASER (ultrasound emitter) device. The possibility of generating coherent phonons in a double barrier semiconductor heterostructure was first proposed[1] a ...

We report on nonadiabatic transport through a double quantum dot under irradiation of surface acoustic waves generated on chip. At low excitation powers, absorption and emission of single and multiple phonons are observed. At higher power, sequential phonon assisted tunneling processes excite the double dot in a highly nonequilibrium state. The present system is attractive for studying electron...
