The irradiation of a series of phenyl sulfonates and phosphates leads to the quantitative release of acidity with a reasonable quantum yield (≈0.2). Products characterization, ion chromatography analysis and potentiometric titration are consistent with the intervening of two different paths in this reaction, viz. cationic with phosphates and (mainly) radical with sulfonates.
The spliceosome, an assembly of snRNAs and proteins, catalyzes the removal of introns from premessenger RNAs. A new study identifies specific phosphates in the U2-U6 snRNA complex that position two catalytic metals. Remarkably, these correspond precisely to metal-binding phosphates in a homologous structure of Group II self-splicing introns, long proposed to be the ribozyme progenitor of splice...
A gcr2 null mutant of Saccharomyces cerevisiae grows well on glucose in spite of its lower level of glycolytic enzymes between triose phosphates and pyruvate. A quantitative analysis shows that these levels are adequate to the flux but glycerate phosphates are elevated.
ABOOD, 1;. G., K. KOKETSU, AND S. MIYAMOTO. Oz@ux of . various @o.s+ztes during membrane depolarization uf excitable fissues. Am. J. Physiol. 202(g) : 469-474. 1g62.-The main purpose of the present work was to study in detail the outflux of Pa2 from excitable tissues accompanying membrane depolarization or electrical excitation. With the use of Pz2 as a tracer, it has been demonstrated that ort...
BACKGROUND Recently, several patients with abnormal polyol profiles in body fluids have been reported, but the origins of these polyols are unknown. We hypothesized that they are derived from sugar phosphate intermediates of the pentose phosphate pathway (PPP), and we developed a semiquantitative method for profiling of pentose phosphate pathway intermediates. METHODS Sugar phosphates in bloo...
An average of 540 picomoles of total adenosine phosphates was found in the embryo of mature seeds of ponderosa pine (Pinus ponderosa Laws.) and 1140 picomoles in the gametophyte. Adenylate energy charges were 0.44 and 0.26, respectively. After stratification, total adenosine phosphates increased 7-fold and 6-fold in embryo and gametophyte, respectively, and energy charges rose to 0.85 and 0.75....
The raw phosphates in the Gafsa-Metlaoui phosphate basin are valorized by wet processes that performed laundries of Gafsa Phosphates Company (CPG, Gafsa, Tunisia) to reach market grades (>28% P2O5). This enrichment process allows increase P2O5 content elimination coarse (>2 mm) and fine (<71 µm) fractions. Mineralogical analysis has shown all investigated materials (raw phosphate, mark...
Considerable efforts have been undertaken by numerous groups in academia and industry over the past decade to expand the repertoire of coupling reagents in palladium(0)-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions. In particular, alkenyl phosphates and tosylates have proven their worth in various cross-coupling reactions, such as the Stille, Suzuki, 3] Negishi, Kumada, Sonogashira, b,e,f,5] Buchwald–Hart...
A variety of metabolic intermediates of the glycolytic pathway and tricarboxylic acid cycle have been found to be inhibitors of 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase isolated from sheep liver. All nucleoside 5’-triphosphates and 5’diphosphates are inhibitors with Ki values averaging 0.8 mM, nucleoside 5’-monophosphates are also inhibitory with Ki values averaging 6 mu. The 2’and 3’monophosphates of ...
