Through the method of analyzing the intrinsic relationship of the nodal point series of the path on curved surface, circle arc approach method is put forward corresponding to the shortest path to solve the curved surface problem by local tuning. Particle swarm optimization has made faster development due to its easy understanding and implement. Particle swarm algorithm has strong local search a...

The ballast of the railway track is constantly changing due to dynamic forces of train traffic that results in the crushing of the rocks. The feasibility to simulate each particle makes the discrete element method (DEM) suitable for the task. Different DEM particle models are introduced in our paper and the adequate one was chosen. This new method is based on crushable convex polyhedral element...

Continuous time random walks incorporate a random waiting time between random jumps. They are used in physics to model particle motion. When the time between particle jumps has a slowly varying probability tail, the resulting plume disperses at a slowly varying rate. The limiting stochastic process is useful for modeling ultraslow diffusion in physics.

A finite difference scheme is proposed for a relatively simple one dimensional collisional plasma model (Vlasov-Poisson-Fokker-Planck). The convergence of the scheme was established in [10]. In this article the scheme is implemented and compared with a random particle method. The difference scheme is found to be more effective, particularly at resolving the plasma density, / (£, x, v).

A recently developed method to include particle{hole correlations into the time{independent mean eld theory for scattering (TIMF) by an inhomogeneous random phase approximation (IRPA) is applied to a numerically solvable model. Having adapted the procedure according to numerical requirements, IRPA calculations turn out to be tractable. The obtained results improve TIMF results.

The Random Particle Optimization (RPO) method, used for determining the optimal path from a specified initial pose of a mobile robot in a static or dynamic environment, models obstacles and target as repulsive and attractive Coulomb potentials respectively. It is a sensor-based method drawing its methodology from bacterial foraging just as Genetic Algorithms (GA) are based on Darwin’s genetic e...

Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is a new evolutionary computation technique. Although PSO algorithm possesses many attractive properties, the methods of selecting inertia weight need to be further investigated. Under this consideration, the inertia weight employing random number uniformly distributed in [0,1] was introduced to improve the performance of PSO algorithm in this work. Three bench...

The Random Particle Mesh (RPM) method used to simulate turbulence-induced broadband noise in several aeroacoustic applications is extended to realise isotropic turbulence spectra. With this method turbulent fluctuations are synthesised by filtering white noise with a Gaussian filter kernel that in turn gives a Gaussian spectrum. The Gaussian function is smooth and its derivatives and integrals ...
