Bacteria and fungi are good indicators for soil health as well soilless growing media (SGM) health. However, there is very limited information about the fungal bacterial communities SGM. In present study, coir substrate peat-based were used typical SGM under drip irrigation tidal to understand situation of by high-throughput sequencing technology. this both environmental factors microbial signi...

Estimates of nonsymbiotic and associative nitrogen fixation indicate that nitrogen fixation occurs at magnitudes that may be of agronomic significance. Long-term N balances for crop production, although difficult to measure, are necessary for estimating the amounts of N2 fixed. Techniques using N directly to measure nitrogen fixation and problems involved in employing these techniques are discu...

biological soil crusts (bscs) result from an intimate association between soil particles and cyanobacteria, algae, fungi, lichens and mosses in different proportions which live on the surface, or immediately in the uppermost millimeters of soil. therefore bscs cover the ground surface as a coherent layer, and influence primary processes such as carbon and nitrogen fixation and hydrologic status...

Abstract-Elevated metal concentrations in soils can disturb the soil ecosystem; thus, researchers strive to identify the most sensitive assay for detection of the early signs of toxicity. The purpose of the present study was to compare eight different ecotoxicological endpoints on the same set of metal-contaminated soils that were collected from seven series of soils sampled during field trials...

In nitrogen (N)-limited systems, the response of symbiotic N fixation to elevated atmospheric [CO2] may be an important determinant of ecosystem responses to this global change. Experimental tests of the effects of elevated [CO2] have not been consistent. Although rarely tested, differences among legume species and N supply may be important. In a field free-air CO2 enrichment (FACE) experiment,...

Sporomusa silvacetica is a spore-forming, anaerobic acetogen isolated from soil derived from east central Germany. The genome contains genes of the Wood-Ljungdahl pathway required for carbon fixation and genes involved in the biosynthesis of the amino acid pyrrolysine. The genome (5.92 Mb) harbors 4,355 predicted protein-encoding genes.

Paraburkholderia nodosa CNPSo 1341 is a N2-fixing symbiont of Phaseolus vulgaris isolated from an undisturbed soil of the Brazilian Cerrado. Its draft genome contains 8,614,032 bp and 8,068 coding sequences (CDSs). Nodulation and N2-fixation genes were clustered in the genome that also contains several genes of secretion systems and quorum sensing.
