Elastomeric membranes that contained regular arrays of well-defined holes were formed by spin-coating a prepolymer onto a photolithographically defined master. These membranes were used as dry resists or as masks in dry lift-off to produce simple features as small as 5 μm on both planar and nonplanar surfaces. These procedures were “dry” because the membranes conformed and sealed reversibly to ...

Electron transport in silicon nanopillars has been investigated, with a view to developing vertical electron emission, electroluminescent and photoluminescent devices. Arrays of nanopillars were fabricated in highly-doped single crystal silicon and polysilcon materials. A ‘natural lithography’ technique utilising colloidal gold particles as an etch mask, in conjunction with standard microfabric...

Understanding the relationship between the growth and local emission of hybrid perovskite structures and the performance of the devices based on them demands attention. This study investigates the local structural and emission features of CH3NH3PbI3, CH3NH3PbBr3, and CH(NH2)2PbBr3 perovskite films deposited under different yet optimized conditions using X-ray scattering and cathodoluminescence ...

Transparent mesoporous silica films were prepared by sol-gel spin coating on silicon wafers at room temperature. An erbium complex, erbium tris 8-hydroxyquinoline (ErQ), was homogeneously impregnated into the pores of the mesoporous silica films, and its concentration was easily controlled by using a solution immersing technique. The ErQ-impregnated mesoporous silica films show a room-temperatu...

In this paper, an accurate model for the spin-coating process is presented and investigated from the analytical point of view. More precisely, the spin-coatong process is being described as a one-phase free boundary value problem for Newtonian fluids in the rotational setting. The method presented is based on a transformation of the free boundary value problem to a quasilinear evolution equatio...

Dense SrZr0.95Y0.05O3 a and SrCe0.95Yb0.05O3 a thin films with perovskite structure were prepared on porous SrZr0.95Y0.05O3 a substrates by spin coating colloidal suspensions of powders prepared by combustion methods. Porous substrates were prepared by treating carbon/SrZr0.95Y0.05O3 a composites in air at 1273–1573 K in order to combust the carbon and partially sinter the resulting porous oxid...

Fast and robust infiltration of anodic TiO2 nanotube layers with a model chalcogenide As3S7 glass via spin-coating is reported for the first time. Effective sensitization leads to a significant visible light photocurrent response. This easy and cheap infiltration method can be extended for deposition of other absorbers into nanotubular layers.

A ditopic melamine bearing perylene bisimides with swallow-tail alkyl chains can be dissolved in organic solvents by mixing with complementary hydrogen-bonding barbiturate or cyanurate, forming solution processable supramolecular assemblies. Upon spin-coating the assemblies, highly organized lamellar architectures are formed with thermal annealing, which act as electron transporting layers in o...

ITO thin films were deposited by spin coating method starting from indium and tin propoxide in the frame of a sol-gel process. Films with the thickness corresponding to 68 nm for one layer deposition were produced and characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy and infrared reflection spectroscopy. Low conductivity polycrystalline films exhibiting cubical structure (bix...
