Management of symptomatic multifocal supra-aortic atherosclerotic disease presents a complex surgical challenge. We describe a novel approach where a temporary extra-corporeal femoro-carotid shunt was used to maintain cerebral perfusion during hybrid surgical and endovascular treatment for tandem supra-aortic lesions.

Self-assembly of CuX2 (X(-) = ClO4(-) and BF4(-)) with 2,3-bis(nicotinoyloxy)naphthalene yields a 1D loop-chain skeleton. The loop-chains form an ensemble constituting a unique 3D kagome-type structure with both hexagonal and trigonal supra-channels. The unprecedented supra-channel effects on the catalytic oxidation of 3,5-di-tert-butylcatechol to 3,5-di-tert-butylbenzoquinone were investigated.

The title supra-molecular polymer, [Cu(S(3)O(6))(H(2)O)(4)](n), features a tetra-gonally distorted octa-hedral Cu(II) centre within an O(6) donor set with the longer Cu-O bonds linking the dication and the trithio-nate dianion. Extensive O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions connect the supra-molecular chains into a three-dimensional network.
