We present methods for drawing graphs that arise in various information networks. It has been noted that many realistic graphs have power law degree distribution and exhibit the small world phenomenon. Our algorithm is influenced by recent developments on modeling and analysis of such power law graphs.
In their classic paper, S. Orey and S.J. Taylor compute the Hausdorr dimension of the set of points at which the law of the iterated logarithm fails for Brownian motion. By introducing \fast sets", we describe a converse to this problem for fractional Brownian motion. Our result is in the form of a limit theorem. From this, we can deduce reenements to the aforementioned dimension result of Orey...
Portfolio optimization methods suffer from a catalogue of known problems, mainly due to the facts that pair correlations asset returns are unstable, and extremal risk measures such as maximum drawdown difficult predict non-Gaussianity portfolio returns. \\ In order look at optimal portfolios for arbitrary penalty functions, we construct shapes where is proportional moment $p>2$. The resulting c...
A functionally graded material beam with generalized boundary conditions is contemplated in the present study in order to examine the deformation and stress behavior under thermal and thermo-mechanical load. Three discrete combinations of functionally graded materials have been deliberate in including a wide range of materials and material properties. The variation of material properties has be...
In order to resolve two previous conflicting reports on detectable but weak nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) 33S signals in unenriched EuS, a sample of 33S-enriched EuS was prepared and the NMR and its temperature dependence were measured in the range from 1.3 to 4.2 K. It was verified that the T=0 extrapolated NMR signal has a value of 12.73 MHz (≈ 39 kG), not 5.4 MHz, as one group had reporte...
We combine new HST/ACS observations and existing data to investigate the wavelength dependence of near-IR (NIR) extinction. Previous studies suggest a power-law form for NIR extinction, with a “universal” value of the exponent, although some recent observations indicate that significant sight line-to-sight line variability may exist. We show that a power-law model for the NIR extinction provide...
introduction: aphasia is a language disorder resulting from a lesion in the cerebral cortex. in this case report, we present a polyglot patient who recovered from aphasia by speaking his newly active learned language case report: a 69 years old male referred with acute onset right hemiparesis and global aphasia. after imaging, he treated with 75 mg r-tpa (0.9 mg/kg). after the fourth day of hos...
Signals consisting of a sequence of pulses show that inherent origin of the 1/f noise is a Brownian fluctuation of the average interevent time between subsequent pulses of the pulse sequence. In this paper we generalize the model of interevent time to reproduce a variety of self-affine time series exhibiting power spectral density S(f) scaling as a power of the frequency f. Furthermore, we anal...
