We prove that if a solution of an equation of KdV type is bounded above by a traveling wave with an amplitude that decays faster than a given linear exponential then it must be zero. We assume no restrictions neither on the size nor in the direction of the speed of the traveling wave.
We explore numerically different aspects of periodic traveling-wave solutions of the Camassa–Holm equation. In particular, the time evolution of some recently found new traveling-wave solutions and the interaction of peaked and cusped waves is studied. 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
Lubrication equations for a surfactant-driven flow of a thin layer of fluid are considered with a singular surfactant-dependent surface tension. It is shown that there exists a bounded traveling wave solution which connects a fully surfactant-coated film to an uncoated film. The regularity of the traveling wave depends on whether or not surface diffusion of the insoluble surfactant is included.
By using the bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems to a class of nonlinear evolution equations, the existence of traveling wave solutions is showed. Under different parametric conditions, various sufficient conditions to guarantee the existence of the above solutions are given. Explicit exact parametric representations of some traveling wave solutions are obtained.

This paper presents the design of a Rotary Traveling Wave Oscillator (RTWO) at 85GHz. The oscillator can be useful in imaging applications. It is implemented in 65nm commercial CMOS technology. The total area of the oscillator is 0.185x0.185 mm. The total power consumption is 25 mA out of 1.5 V supply. In this work, we consider varying aspects of the stability of periodic traveling wave solutions to nonlinear dispersive equations. In particular, we are interested in deriving universal geometric criterion for the stability of particular third order nonlinear dispersive PDE’s. We begin by studying the spectral stability of such solutions to the generalized Korteweg-de Vries (gKdV) equation. Usi...
The applicabilty of superconductors to antennas is examined. Potential implementations that are examined are superdirective arrays; electrically small antennas; tuning and matching of these two; high-gain millimeter-wavelength arrays; and kinetic inductance slow wave structures for array phasers and traveling wave array feeds. Superdirective arrays and small antennas will not benefit directly, ...
In this paper, we study the orbital stability for a four-parameter family of periodic stationary traveling wave solutions to the generalized Korteweg-de Vries (gKdV) equation ut = uxxx + f(u)x. In particular, we derive sufficient conditions for such a solution to be orbitally stable in terms of the Hessian of the classical action of the corresponding traveling wave ordinary differential equatio...
