For the problems of nonparametric estimation of nonincreasing and symmetric unimodal density functions with bounded supports we determine the projections of estimates onto the convex families of possible parent densities with respect to the weighted integrated squared error We also describe the method of approx imating the analogous projections onto the respective density classes satisfying som...
Associations between exponential childhood growth superimposed on low birth weight and adult onset cardiovascular disease with glucose intolerance/type 2 diabetes mellitus exist in epidemiological investigations. To determine the metabolic adaptations that guard against myocardial failure on subsequent exposure to hypoxia, we compared with controls (CON), the effect of intrauterine (IUGR), post...
Many cache misses in scientic programs are due to con-icts caused by limited set associativity. We examine two compile-time data-layout transformations for eliminating con-ict misses, concentrating on misses occuring on every loop iteration. Inter-variable padding adjusts variable base addresses , while intra-variable padding modiies array dimension sizes. Two levels of precision are evaluated....
It has been observed that memory access performance can be improved by restructuring data declarations, using simple transformations such as array dimension padding and inter-array padding (array alignment) to reduce the number of misses in the cache and TLB (translation lookaside bu er). These transformations can be applied to both static and dynamic array variables. In this paper, we provide ...
Abstract. We study some properties of the randomized series and their applications to the geometric structure of Banach spaces. For n ≥ 2 and 1 < p < ∞, it is shown that l ∞ is representable in a Banach space X if and only if it is representable in the Lebesgue-Bochner Lp(X). New criteria for various convexity properties in Banach spaces are also studied. It is proved that a Banach lattice E is...
The cohomology of operator algebras introduced by B. E. Johnson, R. V. Kadison, and J. R. Ringrose in a series of three papers is a useful tool for obtaining new invariants for operator algebras or to prove stability results by the vanishing of their cohomology groups (see [14]). If X is a von Neumann algebra and a Banach bimodule over M, and if « is a positive integer, then the nth cohomology ...
size of the éliminants but the size of their largest prime factor which is important, and secondly it is not essential to take the w's in order of magnitude. In answer, it should be pointed out that after one passes the limits of factor tables, it becomes impracticable to deal with the factors of the éliminant rather than the éliminant. Therefore, since the éliminant (in one case at least) appe...
We introduce a new three-step iterative scheme with errors. Several convergence theorems of this scheme are established for common fixed points of nonself asymptotically quasi-non-expansive mappings in real uniformly convex Banach spaces. Our theorems improve and generalize recent known results in the literature.
Suppose that K is a nonempty closed convex subset of a real uniformly convex Banach space E , which is also a nonexpansive retract of E with nonexpansive retraction P . Let {Ti : i ∈ I } be N nonself asymptotically nonexpansive mappings from K to E such that F = {x ∈ K : Ti x = x, i ∈ I } 6= φ, where I = {1, 2, . . . , N }. From arbitrary x0 ∈ K , {xn} is defined by xn = P((1− αn)xn−1 + αnTn(PT...
