We investigate linear energy preserving methods for the Volterra lattice equation as non-canonical Hamiltonian system. The averaged vector field method was applied to the Volterra lattice equation in bi-Hamiltonian form with quadratic and cubic Poisson brackets. In this article the nonlinear mixed Volterra-Fredholm integral equations are investigated by means of the modified threedimensional block-pulse functions (M3D-BFs). This method converts the nonlinear mixed Volterra-Fredholm integral equations into a nonlinear system of algebraic equations. The illustrative examples are provided to demonstrate the applicability and simplicity of our scheme.

We show that a class of linear nonconvolution discrete Volterra equations has asymptotically periodic solutions. We also examine an example for which the calculations can be done explicitly. The results are established using theorems on the boundedness and convergence to a finite limit of solutions of linear discrete Volterra equations.

| In this paper the identiication of non-linear systems by Volterra Systems (VS) and a special class of VS called Linearly decomposable Volterra Systems (LDVS) is considered. The results obtained for diierent nonlinear systems with VS and LDVS are studied in detail. A clear improvement in performance is observed if a LDVS is used instead of a VS.
