Soybean chlorotic mottle virus (SbCMV) is the type species of the genus 'Soybean chlorotic mottle-like viruses', within the family Caulimoviridae. The double-stranded DNA genome of SbCMV (8178 bp) contains eight major open reading frames (ORFs). Viral genes essential and non-essential for the replication and movement of SbCMV were investigated by mutational analysis of an infectious 1.3-mer DNA...

Calibrachoa mottle virus (CbMV) infects Calibrachoa, an important new horticultural plant in Europe and in the United States [1]. It belongs to the genus Carmovirus of family Tombusviridae and has a single stranded, positive-sense RNA genome of 3.919 kb (Genbank accession number GQ244431) [2]. Molecular analysis of the CbMV genomic sequence revealed the presence of at least five open reading fr...

Virus infection in chili plants may cause various symptoms. The complexity of the symptoms and human vision ability often become limiting factors during disease investigations. Digital image analysis is expected to a method assist comprehensively describing plant viruses. A survey was conducted on cayenne pepper fields Southeast Sulawesi Province observe virus virtually record symptomatic using...

A nationwide survey was performed to investigate the current incidence of viral diseases in Korean sweet potatoes for germplasm and growing fields from 2011 to 2014. A total of 83.8% of the germplasm in Korea was infected with viruses in 2011. Commercial cultivars that were used to supply growing fields were infected at a rate of 62.1% in 2012. Among surveyed viruses, the incidence of five Poty...

Co-infection with two virus species was previously reported in some cactus plants. Here, we showed that Notocactus leninghausii f. cristatus can be co-infected with six different viruses: cactus mild mottle virus (CMMoV)-Nl, cactus virus X (CVX)-Nl, pitaya virus X (PiVX)-Nl, rattail cactus necrosis-associated virus (RCNaV)-Nl, schlumbergera virus X (SchVX)-Nl, and zygocactus virus X (ZyVX)-Nl. ...

Pterotylenchus cecidogenus did not inhibit germination of Desmodium ovalifolium but did reduce survival of seedlings and root and stem growth. Stem gall formation was associated with nematode population densities which were positively correlated with plant age at time of inoculation. Nematode population densities increased 100 times in 52 days following inoculation.

The production of new cultivars via recombinant DNA technology is important in applied agriculture. Promoters play fundamental roles in successful transformation and gene expression. Fragments of the upstream regulatory region of the movement protein gene of the Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV; two fragments) and Watermelon chlorotic stunt virus (WmCSV, two fragments) and one fragment of t...
