We present the first observation of the decay B → J/ψφK. Using 9.6 · 10 BB pairs collected with the CLEO detector, we have observed 10 fully reconstructed B → J/ψφK candidates, whereas the estimated mean background is 0.5 events. We obtained B(B → J/ψφK) = (8.8 −3.0(stat) ± 1.3(syst)) · 10 . This observation serves as the first conclusive evidence for the ss pair popping in the B meson decays. ...

The time-dependent CP asymmetries in fully reconstructed B0→D(∗)±π∓/ρ∓ decays (new preliminary result), and in partially reconstructed B0→D(∗)±π∓ decays, are measured with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric B factory at SLAC, using 232 million Υ (4S) → BB decays. We combine the above results and, using other measurements and theoretical assumptions, we interpret them in terms of the an...

Using a sample of 9.7×10 BB meson pairs collected with the CLEO detector, we study inclusive B meson decays to the χc1 and χc2 charmonia states. We measure the branching fraction for the inclusive χc1 production in B decays to be B(B → χc1X) = (4.14± 0.31± 0.40)× 10 , where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second one is systematic. We obtain the branching fractions for direct χc1 an...

In this paper, we aim to take mobile multi-object tracking to the next level. Current approaches work in a tracking-by-detection framework, which limits them to object categories for which pre-trained detector models are available. In contrast, we propose a novel tracking-before-detection approach that can track both known and unknown object categories in very challenging street scenes. Our app...

This research tests whether analogical processing ability is present in 3-month-old infants. Infants are habituated to a series of analogous pairs, instantiating either same (e.g., AA, BB, etc.) or different (e.g., AB, CD, etc.), and then tested with further exemplars of the relations. If they can distinguish the familiar relation from the novel relation, even with new objects, this is evidence...

Recent results on sphere packings show a remarkable relation between dense nite sphere packings and concepts of crystallography, such as the Gibbs{Curie surface energy and the Wull{shape for ideal crystals and quasicrystals ((W2], W3], S], BB], BS1] and BS2]). The previous papers mainly considered applications. Here we prove some basic properties of the tools, in particular the density deviatio...

Let F be a Siegel cusp form of integral weight k on the Siegel modular group Sp 2 (Z) of genus 2 and denote by a(T) (T 2 Q (2;2) ; T > 0 half-integral) its Fourier coeecients. It is known (see BB ocherer & Raghavan, 1988 and Fomenko, 1987) that (1) X fT>0; det(T)=N g=GL2(Z) ja(T)j 2 ";F N k?3=32+" (" > 0) where the sum is over GL 2 (Z)-classes of T > 0 with det(T) = N: In the present note we sh...

The study of flavor-changing neutral current decays is of fundamental interest. They provide a sensitive window in which to search for possible new physics effects beyond the Standard Model of particle physics. Measurements of these processes at rates significantly above the Standard Model would point, unambiguously, to new physics. One such decay of interest is B+ → K+νν . Herein, we discuss t...
