In this work, we studied the impact of harvesting time on Fusarium mycotoxin occurrence in spring wheat and effect contamination quality these grains. The grains (Triticum aestivum L.) were collected 2016–2018 when crop had reached full maturity, 10 ± 2 days 17 3 after maturity. grain samples analyzed for infection co-contamination with mycotoxins deoxynivalenol (DON), zearalenone (ZEA), T-2 to...

Zearalenone (ZEA) as mycoestrogen is found in human foods and animal feeds. Its estrogenic potency depends on its biotransformation fate. The hepatic biotransformation of ZEA in two species of sturgeon fish (Acipenser persicus and Huso huso) was investigated. ZEA was incubated with the hepatic microsomal and post-mitochondrial sub-fractions in the presence of NADPH and the metabolites were dete...

Contamination of Canadian barley samples by 3,15-diacetyldeoxynivalenol was detected by enzyme immunoassays combined with liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. This is the first reported natural occurrence of this mycotoxin. The barley was infected mainly with Fusarium graminearum. Deoxynivalenol, 3-acetyldeoxynivalenol, and zearalenone were also found.

Background This work studied the natural infection of Neospora caninum during the first gestation of heifers in a dairy farm in animals consuming a ration co ntaminated naturally with Zearalenone (ZEA), and to find out effect of mycotoxin in the levels of estrogen (E) and progesterone (P4) and that's relation to the infection to N. caninum and in the abortions. Methods The study was conducted...

The biosynthesis of a few representative polyketide-derived mycotoxins is reviewed: patulin, citrinin, diplosporin, ochratoxin A, maltoryzine, xanthomegnin, cytochalasans, ergochromes, zearalenone, citreoviridin, and the aflatoxins. Particular attention is given to the biosynthetic sequence: acetate----averufin----versiconal acetate----versicolorin A----sterigmatocystin----aflatoxin B1.

A reliable high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS) method was established for the simultaneous detection of zearalenone-14-glucoside (ZEN-14G) and its metabolite, zearalenone (ZEN), in plasma, urine, various tissues rats. The performance developed validated by determining selectivity, linearity (R2 > 0.99), sensitivity (lower limit quantification, 0.1–1 μ...

This study aimed to investigate the potential accumulation of mycotoxins in the lesser mealworm (Alphitobius diaperinus, LMW) and black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens, BSF) larvae. Feed was spiked with aflatoxin B₁, deoxynivalenol (DON), ochratoxin A or zearalenone, and as a mixture of mycotoxins, to concentrations of 1, 10, and 25 times the maximum limits set by the European Commission for com...
