let a be a banach algebra and x be a banach a-bimodule. in this paper, we de ne a new product on a x and generalize the module extension banach algebras. we obtain characterizations of arens regularity, commutativity, semisimplity, and study the ideal structure and derivations of this new banach algebra.

We consider the problem of learning skill templates for a parameterized reinforcement learning problem class T. That is, we assume that a task, i.e., an instance of the problem class, is defined by a task parameter vector τ ∈ T ⊆ R n and an associated interpretation. Likewise, a skill is considered as a parameterized policy with parameter vector θ ∈ R m. A parameterized skill [1] is a mapping Θ...

We study the daily trading volume volatility of 17,197 stocks in the US stock markets during the period 1989-2008 and analyze the time return intervals τ between volume volatilities above a given threshold q. For different thresholds q, the probability density function P(q)(τ) scales with mean interval 〈τ〉 as P(q)(τ)=〈τ〉(-1)f(τ/〈τ〉), and the tails of the scaling function can be well approximate...

We prove that if ZFC is consistent so is ZFC + “for any sequence (An) of subsets of a Polish space 〈X, τ〉 there exists a separable metrizable topology τ ′ on X with B(X, τ) ⊆ B(X, τ ′), MGR(X, τ ′) ∩ B(X, τ) = MGR(X, τ) ∩B(X, τ) and An Borel in τ ′ for all n.” This is a category analogue of a theorem of Carlson on the possibility of extending Lebesgue measure to any countable collection of sets...

The lifetime of the τ lepton is measured using the process e+ e- → τ+ τ- , where both τ leptons decay to 3πν(τ). The result for the mean lifetime, based on 711  fb(-1) of data collected with the Belle detector at the ϒ(4S) resonance and 60  MeV below, is τ=(290.17±0.53(stat)±0.33(syst))×10(-15)  s. The first measurement of the lifetime difference between τ+ and τ- is performed. The upper limit ...

We compute the next-to-leading order QCD corrections to spectator effects in the lifetime ratios of beauty hadrons. With respect to previous calculations, we take into account the non vanishing value of the charm quark mass. We obtain the predictions τ(B)/τ(Bd) = 1.06±0.02, τ(Bs)/τ(Bd) = 1.00±0.01 and τ(Λb)/τ(Bd) = 0.90±0.05, in good agreement with the experimental results. In the case of τ(Bs)...
