در این مطالعه اثر ضدتشنجی عصاره هیدروالکلی ریشه و ریزوم گیاه سنبل‌الطیب در مدل پنتیلن تترازول و الکتروشوک مورد بررسی قرار گرفت. در آزمون پنتیلن تترازول تمام دوزهای به‌کار رفته باعث افزایش معنی‌داری در زمان شروع تشنج نسبت به نرمال سالین گردیدند. عصاره در مدل الکتروشوک تاثیری در جلوگیری از تشنج نداشت.
