Total resection of adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma (ACP) is complex and often leads to postoperative recurrence. This is due to the tendency of the tumor to invade the surrounding brain tissue and the generation of a local inflammatory state between the tumor cells and parenchyma. While there is evidence to suggest that interleukin‑6 (IL‑6) induces craniopharyngioma (CP)‑associated inflammat...

The anterior clinoid process (ACP) is usually removed during surgeries of proximal internal carotid artery (ICA) aneurysms. However, some ACPs present with air cells originating from the sphenoid or/and ethmoid sinus. In surgeries containing a clinoidectomy of a pneumatised process, up to 40% of patients experience cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) rhinorrhoea. The aim of this study was to explore the ...

BACKGROUND Advance care planning (ACP) has been identified as particularly relevant for nursing home residents, but it remains unclear how or under what circumstances ACP works and can best be implemented in such settings. We aimed to develop a theory that outlines the hypothetical causal pathway of ACP in nursing homes, i.e. what changes are expected, by means of which processes and under what...

Pathogenic and commensal Neisseria species produce an Adhesin Complex Protein, which was first characterised in Neisseria meningitidis (Nm) as a novel surface-exposed adhesin with vaccine potential. In the current study, the crystal structure of a recombinant (r)Nm-ACP Type I protein was determined to 1.4 Å resolution: the fold resembles an eight-stranded β-barrel, stabilized by a disulphide bo...

BACKGROUND CONTEXT Some postoperative complications after anterior cervical fusions have been attributed to anterior cervical plate (ACP) profiles and the necessary wide operative exposure for their insertion. Consequently, low-profile stand-alone interbody spacers with integrated screws (SIS) have been developed. Although SIS constructs have demonstrated similar biomechanical stability to the ...

Health organizations in canada have invested considerable resources in strategies to improve knowledge and uptake of advance care planning (acp). Yet barriers persist and many canadians do not engage in the full range of acp behaviours, including writing an advance directive and appointing a legally authorized decision-maker. not engaging effectively in acp disadvantages patients, their loved o...

This paper lists some new directions for research related to the Algebra of Communicating Processes (ACP). Most of these directions have been inspired by work on SubScript, an ACP based extension to the programming language Scala. SubScript applies several new ideas that build on ACP, but currently these lack formal treatment. Some of these new ideas are rather fundamental. E.g. it appears that...

In this paper, optimal control for stochastic linear singular periodic neuro Takagi–Sugeno (T–S) fuzzy system with singular cost is obtained using ant colony programming (ACP). To obtain the optimal control, the solution of matrix Riccati differential equation (MRDE) is computed by solving differential algebraic equation (DAE) using a novel and nontraditional ACP approach. ACP solution is equiv...

We have measured the CP asymmetry ACP ≡ (Γ(b → sγ) − Γ(b̄ → s̄γ))/(Γ(b → sγ) + Γ(b̄ → s̄γ)) to be ACP = (−0.079 ± 0.108 ± 0.022)(1.0 ± 0.030), implying that, at 90% confidence level, ACP lies between –0.27 and +0.10. These limits rule out some extreme non-Standard-Model predictions, but are consistent with most, as well as with the Standard Model.
