Using the thermodynamical Bethe ansatz method we derive an infinite set of integral nonlinear equations for the spectrum of states/operators in AdS/CFT. The Y-system conjectured in [1] for the spectrum of all operators in planar N = 4 SYM theory follows from these equations. In particular, we present the integral equations for the spectrum of all operators within the sl(2) sector.

Spontaneous fission barriers, quadrupole inertia, and zero-point quadrupole-energy corrections are calculated for 252,256,258 Fm in the framework of the self-consistent Skyrme-Hartree-Fock+BCS theory. Two ways of computing dynamical inertia are employed: the Gaussian Overlap Approximation to the Generator Coordinate Method and crank-ing ansatz. The Skyrme results are compared with those of the ...

We study the generalized supersymmetric t−J model with boundaries. Starting from the trigonometric R-matrix, and in the framework of the graded quantum inverse scattering method (QISM), we obtain the eigenvalues and Bethe ansatz equations of the supersymmetric t−J model with boundaries in three different backgrounds. We discuss the phase diagram of the Shastry–Sutherland model for arbitrary spin S and derive rigorous lower and upper bounds on the phase boundaries of the dimer phase by using various versions of a variational ansatz in combination with the exact diagonalisation method.

It is shown that a recently discovered representation of the Green's function is equivalent to a certain "dynamical ansatz" for the corresponding path integral, which brings about a convenient method of nonperturbative approximations. Based on this observation, a set of nonperturbative approximations to the trace of the Green's function is established.

We investigate two methods of obtaining exactly solvable potentials with analytic forms. PACS numbers:03.65.Ge,11.30.Pb There are two methods of obtaining exactly solvable potentials in quantum mechanics. The first method was developed by applying the technique of supersymmetry (SUSY) to the Schrödinger equation and obtain two potentials with almost identical spectra. The two potentials can be ...

In Wilhelm Fushchych’s address, ”Ansatz ’95”, given to the first conference ”Symmetry in Nonlinear Mathematical Physics” [1], he listed many differential equations on which he and others had done some symmetry analysis. In this talk, the present author treats two of these equations rather extensively, using differential forms to find the symmetries, based on a method by F. B. Estabrook and hims...

We firstly review the constant term method (CTM), illustrating its combinatorial connections and show how it can be used to solve a certain class of lattice path problems. We show the connection between the CTM, the transfer matrix method (eigenvectors and eigenvalues), partial difference equations, the Bethe Ansatz and orthogonal polynomials. Secondly, we solve a lattice path problem first pos...

We study two pion correlations from Skyrmion and antiSkyrmion collision, using the product ansatz and an approximate random grooming method for nucleon projection. The spatial-isospin coupling inherent in the Skyrme model, along with empirical averages, leads to correlations not only among pions of like charges but also among unlike charge types. A fermion model consisting of two chains with interchain tunneling is formulated and solved exactly by the Bethe ansatz method. The interchain tunneling leads to Cooper pair like bound states and a threshold energy is required to overcome the binding energy. The correlation functions manifest superconducting properties.
