Driving simulators have been widely used to investigate driver behavior and psychophysiological responses. In this paper, we proposed to use multiple participant-operated driving simulators which communicate with each other so the platoon formed by the simulators can demonstrate realistic effects of driver-driver interaction in simulation scenarios. In our preliminary experiment, three driving ...
A new model for predicting automobile driving posture is presented. The model, based on data from a study of 68 men and women in 18 vehicle package and seat conditions, is designed for use in posturing the human figure models that are increasingly used for vehicle interior design. The model uses a series of independent regression models, coupled with data-guided inverse kinematics, to fit a who...
Abstract Keeping the pressure of automobile tire in normal working range is an important guarantee for safety automobile. When leaks, driver should be reminded to check or replace before potential danger blowing out. Aiming at problem commercial vehicle driving, a set monitoring alarm systems designed by combining radius method and frequency method. The magneto-electric wheel speed sensor used ...
This paper describes a prototype interface design for an automobile driving history log. It allows drivers to choose the best route among several alternatives for their common trips. Recorded data includes time to complete the travel, fuel consumption, and number of stops.
In this demonstration we present a conversational dialog system for automobile drivers. The system provides a voicebased interface to playing music, finding restaurants, and navigating while driving. The design of the system as well as the new technologies developed will be presented. Our evaluation showed that the system is promising, achieving high task completion rate and good user satisfation.
BACKGROUND Return to driving is a goal and milestone in the recovery process following acquired brain injury (ABI). Knowledge of whether and when a person is likely to return to driving is important to people with ABI, family members and clinicians. OBJECTIVE To determine the rates, timing, correlates, and predictors of return to driving in the first 6 months after discharge from hospital fol...
Economists often favor market-based mechanisms over non-market based mechanisms to allocate scarce public resources on grounds of economic efficiency and revenue generation. When the usage of the resources in question generates type-dependent negative externalities, the welfare comparison can become ambiguous. Both types of allocation mechanisms are being implemented in China’s major cities to ...
