We investigated the interacting impacts of urban landscape and gardening practices on the species richness and total abundance of communities of common butterfly communities across France, using data from a nationwide monitoring scheme. We show that urbanization has a strong negative impact on butterfly richness and abundance but that at a local scale, such impact could be mitigated by gardenin...

in this paper, we prove that the wrapped Butterfly digraph ~ WBF(d; n) of degree d and dimension n contains at least d?1 arc-disjoint Hamilton circuits, answering a conjecture of D. Barth. We also conjecture that ~ WBF(d; n) can be decomposed into d Hamilton circuits, except for {d = 2 and n = 2}, {d = 2 and n = 3} and {d = 3 and n = 2}. We show that it suffices to prove the conjecture for d pr...

infective endocarditis is one of the most severe complications of parenteral drug abuse. the outstanding clinical feature of infective endocarditis in intravenous drug abusers is the high incidence of right-sided valve infection, and the tricuspid valve is involved in 60% to 70% of the cases. we herein report a case of isolated pulmonic valve infective endocarditis with a native pulmonary valve.

the patient was a 19 year-old woman with the diagnosis of resistant hypertension, although she was under treatment of three classes of anti-hypertensive drugs (beta blocker, angiotensin receptor blocker, diuretic) for more than one year. in physical examination there was only a significant difference between the systolic blood pressure of upper and lower extremities (200 vs. 120 mmhg), without ...

The SR algorithm is a structure-preserving algorithm for computing the spectrum of symplectic matrices. Any symplectic matrix can be reduced to symplectic butterfly form. A symplectic matrix B in butterfly form is uniquely determined by 4n− 1 parameters. Using these 4n− 1 parameters, we show how one step of the symplectic SR algorithm for B can be carried out in O(n) arithmetic operations compa...

Spin-wave instability for parallel pumping is studied theoretically. The spin-wave instability threshold is calculated in ferromagnetic thin films under oblique field which has an oblique angle to the film plane. The butterfly curve of the threshold usually has a cusp at a certain value of the static external field. While the static field value of the cusp point varies as the oblique angle chan...

danaus chrysippus l. (lep.: nymphalidae) is the most important pest on calotropis procera aiton in bushehr-iran. the larvae make the main damage by feeding on leaves and shrubs. the purpose of this project was the study of bioecology and larval population fluctuation of d.chrysippus, carried out between 2006 and 2007 in saadabad area in bushehr-iran. the sampling was carried out weekly by a two...

Through a simple room-temperature photoreduction process, this letter conformally replicates 3D submicrometer structures of wing scales from two butterfly species into Ag to generate practical surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrates. The Ag replicas of butterfly scales with higher structural periodicity are able to detect rhodamine 6G at a low concentration down to 10(-9) M, which i...
