The selective hydrogenation of functionalized olefins is great importance in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. Here, we report on a nanostructured nickel catalyst that enables purely aliphatic under mild conditions. earth-abundant metal allows sterically protected further tolerates functional groups such as carbonyls, esters, ethers nitriles. characterization our revealed formation surf...

A total of nine singlet structures for Os2(CO)7 and 15 structures (nine singlet and six triplet) for Os2(CO)6 have been found by density functional theory thereby indicating very complicated energy surfaces. The global minimum for Os2(CO)7 is a doubly carbonyl bridged structure Os2(CO)5(μ-CO)2 with an Os=Os distance of 2.67 Å suggesting a formal double bond and hence a 16-electron rather than a...

Although carbonyl compounds are a key species with atmospheric oxidation capacity, their concentrations and sources have not been sufficiently characterized in various atmospheres, especially desert areas. In this study, were measured from 16 May to 15 June 2018 Tazhong the central Taklimakan Desert, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. Concentrations, chemical compositions, of investigated...

The thermal motion of atoms in crystals is quantified by anisotropic displacement parameters (ADPs). Here we show that dispersion-corrected periodic density-functional theory can be used to compute accurate ADPs for transition metal carbonyls, which serve as model systems for crystalline organometallic and coordination compounds.

Microbiological reductive sulfidation (RS) has rarely been documented, although it represents an efficient strategy for thiol formation. In this work, we reported on the sulfate-respiring bacterium Desulfovibrio sp.86 that previously demonstrated RS activity toward pesticide chlordecone. The purpose of study was to assess its substrate versatility using a set 28 carbonyls, compare with chemical...

OBJECTIVE To determine whether MPO contributes to oxidative stress and disease activity in RA and whether it produces hypochlorous acid in SF. METHODS Plasma and where possible SF were collected from 77 RA patients while 120 healthy controls supplied plasma only. MPO and protein carbonyls were measured by ELISAs. 3-Chlorotyrosine in proteins and allantoin in plasma were measured by mass spect...

INTRODUCTION Breast milk contains molecules needed for the development of children; the integrity and function of these molecules is affected by the presence of pro-oxidants. Protein carbonyls are mainly produced as a result of the interaction of metals with reactive oxygen species (ROS), which may initiate a chain reaction that promotes molecular oxidation. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to dete...

Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) is a disease characterized by the insufficient insulin in genetically prepared people, and mostly appeared at young ages. Therefore, T1DM chronic metabolic disease, like other diseases, it associates with elevated oxidative state. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are metabolites high reactivity that can cause diverse destruction to cellular compartments. Proteins cl...
