With a view to investigate the contribution and role of environment within a wooden pyramid model on the wound healing suppressant effect of dexamethasone in rats, wound breaking strength, dry weight, hydroxyproline content and histology of granulation tissue of the dead space wound were studied in rats. The results indicate that the environment within the wooden pyramid not only promotes signi...

In this work the development and deployment of a new concept of cartoon-generation on a mobile phone is presented. An interactive multimedia application was designed for a push-approach of sending short e-cartoons from a mobile phone to a central WEB server. The concept of a unique cartoon-generator will be discussed. The multimedia Authoring Environment Flash was used for the interactive appli...

In this work we wish to recover an unknown image from a blurry, or noisy-blurry version. We solve this inverse problem by energy minimization and regularization. We seek a solution of the form u + v, where u is a function of bounded variation (cartoon component), while v is an oscillatory component (texture), modeled by a Sobolev function with negative degree of differentiability. We give sever...

We report a functional imaging study of drawing cartoon faces. Normal, untrained participants were scanned while viewing simple black and white cartoon line drawings of human faces, retaining them for a short memory interval, and then drawing them without vision of their hand or the paper. Specific encoding and retention of information about the faces were tested for by contrasting these two st...

The pyramid method for content evaluation of automated summarizers produces scores that are shown to correlate well with manual scores used in educational assessment of students’ summaries. This motivates the development of a more accurate automated method to compute pyramid scores. Of three methods tested here, the one that performs best relies on latent semantics.

In.this paper we describe how techniques from traditional cartoon animation can be used to improve user orientation, interface presentation and interaction feedback in 3D environments. By encapsulating the principles of traditional cartoon animation in agents, that implement the interface components animation behaviour, their use in 3D user interfaces becomes simple and efficient for the inter-
