Although brasses are essentially copper and zinc alloys, they also contain other alloying elements such as lead, silicon, aluminium, iron, tin, manganese, nickel or arsenic whose presence and content are responsible for the wide variety of properties inherent to these materials. In this article, the effect of the chemical composition of brasses, considering each alloying element and the effecti...

In this paper, an attempt has been made to experimental investigation the machinability of aluminum metal matrix composite (LM13/SiC/15p) during continuous turning of composite rods using carbide inserts. Base matrix material is Aluminium LM13 reinforced with 15 % weight by volume of Silicon carbide particles of mean diameter 20 μm to 40 μm is used. The main focus of investigation is to determi...

CNC Turning is basically a material removal process done to obtain the desired diameter. Even though the machine tool industry has made tremendous progress, the metal cutting industries using various machine tools continue to suffer from major drawback of not utilizing the machine tools at their full potential. A major cause leading to such a situation is thought to be the failure to run the ma...

An exact approach is developed to determine the optimum machining conditions and tool allocation decisions simultaneously to minimize the total production cost on a CNC turning machine. There are multiple machining operations and we consider a set of alternative cutting tool types for each operation. The existing tool management approaches at the system level fail to relate the tooling issues t...

A lambda cnc mutation masks the phenotype of the lambda cin-1 mutation. Eleven cnc mutations have been found. All appear to be identical and all map at a site just to the right of the cin-1 site. It is probable that cin-1 and cnc affect adjacent, or almost adjacent nucleotide pairs. Neither the cin-1 nor the cnc mutation involves large additions or deletions of genetic material.
