A new numerical technique is proposed to study the stochastic resonance (SR) phenomenon. The proposed numerical approach allows to nd characteristics of SR faster than the previous ones. The signal-to-noise ratio and phase shifts for a system of noisy coupled oscillators are simulated. The spatiotemporal synchronization is shown by means of trajectory analysis.
The amplitude death phenomenon has been experimentally observed with a pair of thermo-optical oscillators linearly coupled by heat transfer. A parametric analysis has been done and compared with numerical simulations of a time delayed model. The role of the coupling strength is also discussed from experimental and numerical results.
The dynamical behavior of delay-coupled networks of electrochemical reactions is investigated to explore the formation of amplitude death (AD) and the synchronization states in a parameter region around the amplitude death region. It is shown that difference coupling with odd and even numbered ring and random networks can produce the AD phenomenon. Furthermore, this AD can be restored by changi...
The aim of this study was to explore the associations and differences in influencing factors between alcoholic liver disease (ALD) coupled with Helicobacter pylori infection and atherosclerosis and to determine whether there is a "double hit phenomenon" in atherosclerosis patients with ALD and H. pylori infections. Included cases (n = 160) were categorized into 4 groups: 41 cases of ALD coupled...
Effect of noise in inducing order on various chaotically evolving systems is reviewed, with special emphasis on systems consisting of coupled chaotic elements. In many situations it is observed that the uncoupled elements when driven by identical noise, show synchronization phenomena where chaotic trajectories exponentially converge towards a single noisy trajectory, independent of the initial ...
In reports over the past several years, we have demonstrated the efficient collection of optically excited fluorophore emission by its coupling to surface plasmons on thin metallic films, where the coupled luminescence was highly directional and polarized. This phenomenon is referred to as surface plasmon-coupled emission (SPCE). In this current study, we have extended this technique to include...
Protean agonists are of great pharmacological interest as their behavior may change in magnitude and direction depending on the constitutive activity of a receptor. Yet, this intriguing phenomenon has been poorly described and understood, due to the lack of stable experimental systems and design strategies. In this study, we overcome both limitations: First, we demonstrate that modulation of th...
