Dilute Magnetic semiconductors has been attracting researchers due to their wide range of applications like spintronics devices such as spin-FET, spin-LED, nanoscale integrated magnetic memories & sensors etc. But most of practical applications requires curie temperature for DMS to be around room temperature or more. Hence different studies had been done world-wide for controlling the electrica...
Pressure effect on Curie temperature, dTc/dp, for amorphous Col-,B, alloys is estimated indirectly from forced volume magnetostriction even in Tc > Tcry. Results estimated indirectly show smaller values compared with those measured directly, and are consistent with thermal expansion. The value of dTc/dp extrapolated to Co agrees with that for crystalline Co.
The first-order nature of the magnetic phase transformation at 360 °C and the presence of a Bi-rich eutectic at 265 °C have inhibited the application of MnBi thin films for high density magneto-optical data storage. It is suggested that partial substitution of Cr for Mn should both lower the Curie temperature, Tc , and decouple the lattice and magnetic transitions so as to allow reversible Curi...
In the present work we focus on the study of the temperature dependence of the tunnelling current in a ferromagnetic Zener diode. We predict the tunneling magnetoresistance dependence on the temperature. Large doping concentrations lead to magnetic semiconductors with Curie temperature TC near or over room temperature and this will facilitate the introduction of new devices that make use of the...
The magnetic properties of the YFe(12-x)M(x) compounds (M = Ti, Mo or V; x = 1-3.5) have been determined in the ordered ferromagnetic state as well as in the paramagnetic state. The iron magnetic moment has been determined from 4 K up to the Curie temperature whereas the analysis of the paramagnetic region has led to the determination of the effective iron magnetic moment. The number of spins h...
We present an ab initio quantum theory of the finite-temperature magnetism of iron and nickel. A recently developed technique which combines dynamical mean-field theory with realistic electronic structure methods successfully describes the many-body features of the one electron spectra and the observed magnetic moments below and above the Curie temperature.
We discuss the origin of the reentrant behaviors of insulating states above the Curie temperature of the colossal magnetoresistance manganites. We consider a system where charge ordering and ferromagnetism compete with each other. In the presence of randomness which pins charge order fluctuations, entropy-driven reentrant behaviors will appear, which explains the typical temperature dependence ...
Using Ising-model Monte Carlo simulations, we show a strong dependence of surface magnetization on surface roughness. On ferromagnetic surfaces with spin-exchange coupling larger than that of the bulk, the surface magnetic ordering temperature decreases toward the bulk Curie temperature with increasing roughness. For surfaces with spin-exchange coupling smaller than that of the bulk, a crossove...
