The recognition of continuous human activities performed with several limbs is still an open problem. We propose a novel approach for recognition of continuous activities, which considers the direction change between frames to track the motion of several limbs, uses a Bayesian network to recognize different activities. The approach presented can recognize activities performed at different veloc...

In this paper we introduce continuous $g$-Bessel multipliers in Hilbert spaces and investigate some of their properties. We provide some conditions under which a continuous $g$-Bessel multiplier is a compact operator. Also, we show the continuous dependency of continuous $g$-Bessel multipliers on their parameters.

Local and Global Frames of Reference: Last time we introduced the basic elements of affine and Euclidean geometry: points and (free) vectors. However, as of yet we have no mechanism for representing these objects. Recall that points are to be thought of as locations in space and (free) vectors represent direction and magnitude, but are not tied down to a particular location in space. We seek a ...

We present a novel model for movie recommendations using additional visual features extracted from pictural data like posters and still frames, to better understand movies. In particular, several context-based methods for recommendation are shown to be special cases of our proposed framework. Unlike existing context-based approaches, our method can be used to incorporate visual features – featu...

[1] Crustal motion can be described as a vector displacement field, which depends on both the physical deformation and the reference frame. Self-consistent descriptions of surface kinematics must account for the dynamic relationship between the Earth’s surface and the frame origin at some defined center of the Earth, which is governed by the Earth’s response to the degree-one spherical harmonic...

A computational vision approach is presented for the estimation of 2-D translation, rotation, and scale from two partially overlapping images. The approach results in a fast method that produces good results even when large rotation and translation have occurred between the two frames and the images are devoid of significant features. An illuminant direction estimation method is first used to o...

Introduction: The H.264/AVC (Advanced Video Coding) codec has introduced multiple reference frames (MRF) for inter-prediction, in contrast to the single-reference frame of the earlier codecs such as H.263 version 1. In addition to the increased compression efficiency obtained by MRF, soon it was realised that MRF could also be used as a technique to prevent error propagation in video streaming ...

In this paper, a new notion of frames is introduced: $ast$-operator frame as generalization of $ast$-frames in Hilbert $C^{ast}$-modules introduced by A. Alijani and M. A. Dehghan cite{Ali} and we establish some results.
