We consider the class of quantum mechanical master equations defined on a generic Banach space, arising by projecting weakly perturbed one-parameter groups of isometries. We show that the possible semigroup approximations are far from unique. However, uniqueness can be reestablished through the introduction of a dynamical time averaging map. The generator of the resulting Contraction Semigroup ...

a definition of two jointly asymptotically nonexpansive mappings s and t on uniformly convex banach space e is studied to approximate common fixed points of two such mappings through weak and strong convergence of an ishikawa type iteration scheme generated by s and t on a bounded closed and convex subset of e. as a consequence of the notion of two jointly asymptotically nonexpansive maps, we c...

F-actin in a glycerinated muscle fiber was specifically labeled with fluorescent phalloidin-(fluorescein isothiocyanate) FITC complex at 1:1 molar ratio. Binding of phalloidin-FITC to F-actin affected neither contraction of the fiber nor its regulation by Ca2+. Comparison of polarized fluorescence from phalloidin-FITC bound to F-actin in the relaxed state, rigor, and during isometric contractio...

We introduce a characterization of contraction for bounded convex sets. For discrete-time multi-agent systems we provide an explicit upperbound on the rate of convergence to a consensus under the assumptions of contractiveness and (weak) connectedness (across an interval.) Convergence is shown to be exponential when either the system or the function characterizing the contraction is linear.

BACKGROUND Isometric muscle contraction, where force is generated without muscle shortening, is a molecular traffic jam in which the number of actin-attached motors is maximized and all states of motor action are trapped with consequently high heterogeneity. This heterogeneity is a major limitation to deciphering myosin conformational changes in situ. METHODOLOGY We used multivariate data ana...
