This paper is devoted to a preliminary design problem of paced automatic transfer lines. The aim is to choose a logical layout of the line which minimises its cost subject to the given productivity and technological constraints. The paper focuses on a mathematical model of the problem and a method to solve it. The proposed method is based on the transformation of the initial problem into a cons...

In this joint work, a complete framework for modeling, simulating and visualizing multiphase fluid flow within an extraction column is presented. We first present a volume-of-fluid simulation, which is able to predict the surface of the droplets during coalescence. However, a fast and efficient model is needed for the simulation of a liquid-liquid extraction column due to the high number of occ...

The canonical multi-path NUM model which is extended directly from the single-path NUM has been studied widely in the literature. Most of the previous approaches do not specify the case of subflows on paths with different characteristics. Moreover, the transport protocol derived from the canonical multi-path NUM exhibits flappiness in the subflows because of the non-strictly convexity of the op...

We present a method to find static path exclusions in a control flow graph in order to refine the WCET analysis. Using this information, some infeasible paths can be discarded during the ILP-based longest path analysis which helps to improve precision. The new analysis works at the assembly level and uses the Omega library to evaluate Presburger formulas.

In this paper, we present a methodology to use utilization-based admission control in guaranteed real-time communication in a scalable fashion. We make admission control scalable by using a configuration-time test to determine a safe utilization level of servers. Admission control at run-time then is reduced to simple utilization tests on the servers along the path of the new flow. Furthermore,...

due to business and environmental issues, the efficient design of an integrated forward/reverse logistics network has recently attracted more attention from researchers. the significance of transportation cost and customer satisfaction spurs an interest in developing a flexible network design model with different delivery paths. this paper proposes a flexible mixed-integer programming model to ...

Routing metrics proposed for Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) has various concerns like hop count, packet transmission delay, power consumption, congestion control, load balance and message collision. The routing metric of expected effective capacity (EEC) proposed in this paper guarantees to a select a path providing maximum throughput and minimum delay. A forwarding link constituting routing pat...

The percept of self-motion through the environment is supported by visual motion signals and eye movement signals. The interaction between these signals by decoupling of the eye movement and the pattern of retinal motion during brief simulated ego-movement on straight or circular trajectories was studied. A new response method enabled subjects to report perceived destination and perceived curva...

We study several multi-criteria undirected network design problems with node costs and lengths with all problems related to the node costs Multicommodity Buy at Bulk (MBB) problem in which we are given a graph G = (V,E), demands {dst : s, t ∈ V }, and a family {cv : v ∈ V } of subadditive cost functions. For every s, t ∈ V we seek to send dst flow units from s to t on a single path, so that

the study of interactions of jet into cross flow at different longitudinal and transverse angles ofjet was studied. the following components were designed and constructed: a low velocity windtunnel to produce the uniform flow, a flat plate with a traverse injection system to simulate the jetinjection, and a spatial rake to measure the total pressure. the tests were carried out atlongitudinal (α...
