We propose and experimentally demonstrate a dual-polarization (DP) transceiver imbalance monitoring scheme, which is applicable for the coherent system using square QAM signals. The scheme can separate/monitor various kinds of imbalances has technical advantages multi-dimension, wide range, modulation-format-transparency. In proposed polarization scrambler configured between transmitter (Tx) re...
This report is a sequel to several publications in which a Multiple-Gradient Descent Algorithm (MGDA) has been proposed and tested for the treatment of multi-objective differentiable optimization. The method was originally introduced in [4], and again formalized in [6]. Its efficacy to identify the Pareto front has been demonstrated in [9], in comparison with an evolutionary strategy. Finally, ...
The algorithmic facet of euclidean lattices is a frequent tool in computer science and mathematics. It mainly relies on the LLL reduction, making worthwile efficiency improvements. Schnorr proved that the LLL algorithm can be speeded up if one computes approximations to the underlying Gram-Schmidt orthogonalisations. Without approximations, these computations dominate the cost of the reduction....
In this text, we present a generalisation of the idea of the Implicitly Restarted Arnoldi method to the nonsymmetric Lanczos algorithm, using the two-sided Gram-Schmidt process or using a full Lanczos tridi-agonalisation. The Implicitly Restarted Lanczos method can be combined with an implicit lter. It can also be used in case of breakdown and ooers an alternative for look-ahead.
We show in this text how the idea of the Implicitly Restarted Arnoldi method can be generalised to the non-symmetric Lanczos algorithm, using the two-sided Gram-Schmidt process or using a Lanczos tridiagonalisation. The implicitly restarted Lanczos method can be combined with an implicit lter. It can also be used in case of breakdown and ooers an alternative for look-ahead.

We scrutinize the reliability of covariant and Gram-Schmidt Lyapunov vectors for capturing hydrodynamic Lyapunov modes (HLMs) in one-dimensional Hamiltonian lattices. We show that, in contrast with previous claims, HLMs do exist for any energy density, so that strong chaos is not essential for the appearance of genuine (covariant) HLMs. In contrast, Gram-Schmidt Lyapunov vectors lead to mislead...
