this work is a report 0/9 cases ofarcuate incision for correction 0/astigmatism, after penetrating keratoplasty. plannings were based ojj corneal topography, and the first operation was always arcuate incision alone. 11,e secondary plans were based on refractive errors. the mean of preoperative astigmatism was 6d with the range of5 to 9/). after arcuate incision a/the graft-host interface in th...

This article compares methods of axial length measurement for determining intraocular lens power and describes bimanual micro incision phacoemulsification for refractive lens exchange and routine cataract surgery, which offers an enormous advantage of maintaining a more stable intraocular environment during lens removal. This advantage may be especially important in high myopes who are at a gre...

BACKGROUND Plaque incision and tunical grafting is widely used to correct penile curvatures secondary to Peyronie's disease (PD), but there is no consensus on the ideal graft to be used. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficacy, safety, and reproducibility of plaque incision and buccal mucosa grafting (BMG) in the correction of severe penile curvatures secondary to PD. DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTIC...

OBJECTIVES To investigate the association between the geometrical properties of episiotomy and obstetric anal sphincter injuries (OASIS) because episiotomies angled at 40-60° are associated with fewer OASIS than episiotomies with more acute angles. DESIGN Case-control study. SETTING University Hospital of North Norway, Tromsø and Nordland Hospital, Bodø, Norway. SAMPLE Seventy-four women ...

BACKGROUND Surgically induced astigmatism (SIA) was one of the factors that influences the desirable refractive outcome, and it was related to the length, type, location, structure of the incision and to the suture closure technique, etc. The aim was to evaluate the association of corneal histocytological changes with SIA after phacoemulsification. METHODS The study enrolled 68 cases of catar...

OBJECTIVE Minimally invasive multiple vessel revascularization has been accomplished using all arterial graft concepts and aortocoronary vein grafts. The aim of the present study was to determine the technical feasibility of minimally invasive axillary artery to coronary artery vein grafting in the human cadaver. METHODS In seven human cadavers the axillary artery was approached bilaterally v...

SUMMARY We devised the S-shaped incision as a technique for large nevus sequential excision. Using this technique reduces the number of operations needed to complete nevus resection and also shortens the final length and width of the scar. We report this technique after performing it on 7 patients and confirming its usefulness.

A recent study by researchers at Penn Medicine shows that incisionless transcathether aortic valve replacement (TAVR) surgery can cut down the length of hospital stay by 30%. It was also shown that there was no impact on post-operative vascular complication rates when compared with conventional transfemoral TAVR, which requires an incision in the groin. The study is published in Circulation: Ca...
