Given a specication that includes a number of user requirements , we wish to focus on the requirements in turn, and derive a partly dened program for each; then combine all the partly dened programs into a single program that satises all the requirements simultaneously. In this paper we introduces a mathematical basis for solving this problem ; and we illustrate it by means of a simple example.

We examined whether temporal integration of face parts reflects holistic processing or response interference. Participants learned to name two faces "Fred" and two "Bob." At test, the top and bottom halves of different faces formed composites and were presented briefly separated in time. Replicating prior findings (Singer & Sheinberg, Vision Research, 46, 1838-1847, 2006), naming of the target ...

Genome scale data on biological systems has increasingly become available by sequencing of DNA and RNA, and by mass spectrometric quantification of proteins and metabolites. The cellular components from which these -omics regimes are derived act as one integrated system in vivo; thus, there is a natural instinct to integrate -omics data types. Statistical analyses, the use of previous knowledge...

Holistic processing is often used as a construct to characterize face recognition. An important recent study by Gold, Mundy, and Tjan (2012) quantified holistic processing by computing a facial-feature integration index derived from an ideal observer model. This index was mathematically defined as the ratio of the psychophysical contrast sensitivities squared for recognizing a whole face versus...

Seamless integration of digital parts libraries or electronic parts catalogs for e-procurement is impeded by semantic heterogeneity. The utilization of ontologies as metadata descriptions of the information sources is a possible approach to providing an integrated view of multiple parts libraries. However, in order to integrate ontologies, the mismatches between them should be resolved. In this...

Metamodels have been proposed as the basis for tool integration, based on the fact that data and models handled by tools may be defined by means of metamodels, and therefore also their integration. An industrial wind turbine project case study on tool integration has been performed to investigate this. The tool integration scenarios cover both integration of requirements and design Artifacts, a...

An algorithm for calculation of three-loop propagator diagrams in HQET, based on integration-by-parts recurrence relations, is constructed and implemented as a REDUCE package Grinder, and in Axiom.

We consider random variables of the form F = f(V1, . . . , Vn), where f is a smooth function and Vi, i ∈N, are random variables with absolutely continuous law pi(y)dy. We assume that pi, i= 1, . . . , n, are piecewise differentiable and we develop a differential calculus of Malliavin type based on ∂ lnpi. This allows us to establish an integration by parts formula E(∂iφ(F )G) = E(φ(F )Hi(F,G)),...

A generalised integration by parts formula for sequences of absolutely continuous functions that satisfy the w−Appell condition and different estimates for the remainder are provided. Applications for particular instances of such sequences are pointed out as well.
