When acting in a social context, people have an automatic tendency to represent another person’s task – to the extent that another’s task constraints may influence one’s own movement performance. Task co-representation will also affect co-actors’ performance in joint action coordination; however, how exactly movement parameters are influenced is unclear. We investigated this question in four ex...
We describe our work on multirotor UAVs and focus on our method for autonomous landing. The paper describes the design of our landing pad and its advantages. We explain how the landing pad detection algorithm works and how the 3D-position of the UAV relative to the landing pad is calculated. Practical experiments prove the quality of these estimations.
abstract the present study investigated the effects of task types and involvement load hypothesis on incidental learning of 10 target words (tws) in junior high schools (jhss) in givi, ardabil. the tasks deployed in this study were two input-based tasks (reading plus dictionary use with an involvement index of 3, and reading plus gap-fill task with an involvement index of 2), and one output-ba...
A three-dimensional phenomenological model was developed to describe the collective landing of bird flocks. The employed individual based model included the landscape (as an external field) and a continuous internal variable G, to characterize the landing intent of the birds. The birds' interaction with the landscape was coupled adaptively to their landing intent. During the flight, a sharp cro...
Abstract To explore hostile extraterrestrial landforms and construct an engineering prototype, this paper presents the task-oriented topology system synthesis of reconfigurable legged mobile lander (ReLML) with three operation modes from adjusting, landing, to roving. Compared our preceding works, adjusting mode rotations (3R) provides a totally novel exploration approach geometrically matching...
Many studies have found a strong coupling between selective attention and eye movements. The premotor theory of attention suggests that saccade preparation is directly responsible for such attentional shifts. While it has already been shown that the attentional shift is not directly coupled to the final stages of motor execution, it is currently unknown to what aspect of the earlier stages of s...
Higher side-to-side asymmetry among female athletes compared to their male counterparts during bilateral athletic tasks such as landing from a jump has been proposed as a potential source of non-contact knee injuries. However, the kinematic symmetry and potential sex differences during bilateral landings have not been examined. The purpose of this study was to evaluate lower extremity kinematic...
Objective: Dynamic Knee Valgus (DKV) causes many acute and chronic knee injuries during deceleration and landing in sports activities and can affect the athletes’ specific skills. This study aims to investigate the effect of 6 weeks of progressive jump-landing training on jump shooting accuracy and knee valgus angle in male basketball players with DKV. Methods: This is a quasi-experimental stu...
Hazard Avoidance is a key technology for a safe landing of future planetary missions. During Hazard Avoidance, sensors and computers onboard the lander are used to detect hazards in the landing zone, autonomously select the most suitable region for landing, and generate the trajectory that retargets the lander to the safer landing site. In this paper, visionbased hazard avoidance algorithms are...
