In a recent paper, P.G. Trotter and the author introduced a \regular" semidirect product UV of e-varieties U and V. Among several speciic situations investigated there was the case V = RZ, the e-variety of right zero semigroups. Applying a covering theorem of McAlister, it was shown there that in several important cases (for instance for the e-variety of inverse semigroups), U RZ is precisely t...

The main purpose of this paper is to show that a regular semigroup S is a semilattice of bisimple semigroups if and only if it is a band of bisimple semigroups and that this holds if and only if 3) is a congruence on S. It is also shown that a quasiregular semigroup 5 which is a rectangular band of bisimple semigroups is itself bisimple. In [3, Theorem 4.4] it was shown that a semigroup S is a ...

Cohn called a ring $R$ is reversible if whenever $ab = 0,$ then $ba = 0$ for $a,bin R.$ The reversible property is an important role in noncommutative ring theory‎. ‎Recently‎, ‎Abdul-Jabbar et al‎. ‎studied the reversible ring property on nilpotent elements‎, ‎introducing‎ the concept of commutativity of nilpotent elements at zero (simply‎, ‎a CNZ ring)‎. ‎In this paper‎, ‎we extend the CNZ pr...

Within the usual semidirect product S ∗ T of regular semigroups S and T lies the set Reg (S ∗ T ) of its regular elements. Whenever S or T is completely simple, Reg (S ∗T ) is a (regular) subsemigroup. It is this ‘product’ that is the theme of the paper. It is best studied within the framework of existence (or e-) varieties of regular semigroups. Given two such classes, U and V, the e-variety U...

We study the complexity of computation in finitely generated free left, right and two-sided adequate semigroups and monoids. We present polynomial time (quadratic in the RAM model of computation) algorithms to solve the word problem and compute normal forms in each of these, and hence also to test whether any given identity holds in the classes of left, right and/or two-sided adequate semigroups.

the main purpose of this paper is to establish a relation between universality of certain p-compactifications of a semitopological semigroup and their corresponding enveloping semigroups. in particular, we show that if we take p to be the property that the enveloping semigroup of a compactification of a semitopological semigroup s is left simple, a group, or the trivial singleton semigroup, the...

We introduce and use the concept of (∈γ ,∈γ ∨qδ)-fuzzy (left, right, bi-) ideals to study the structural properties of a non-associative algebraic ordered structure. We characterize an intra-regular ordered AGgroupoid by these generalized fuzzy ideals. 2010 AMS Classification: 06F05, 20M12, 08A72

The concept of strong spined product of semigroups is introduced. We first show that a semigroup S is a rpp-semigroup with left central idempotents if and only if S is a strong semilattice of left cancellative right stripes. Then, we show that such kind of semigroups can be described by the strong spined product of a C-rpp-semigroup and a right normal band. In particular, we show that a semigro...

We show that for two partially ordered semigroups S and T with common local units, there exists a unitary Morita context with surjective maps if and only if the categories of closed right Sand T posets are equivalent.

We consider the question of membership of A ∨ G, where A and G are the pseudovarieties of finite aperiodic semigroups, and finite groups, respectively. We find a straightforward criterion for a semigroup S lying in a class of finite semigroups that are weakly abundant, to be in A ∨ G. The class of weakly abundant semigroups contains the class of regular semigroups, but is much more extensive; w...
