Two-view triangulation is a problem of minimizing a quadratic polynomial under an equality constraint. We derive a polynomial that encodes the local minimizers of this problem using the theory of Lagrange multipliers. This offers a simpler derivation of the critical points that are given in HartleySturm [6].

We consider a relation between local and global characteristics of a differential algebraic variety. We prove that dimension of tangent space for every regular point of an irreducible differential algebraic variety coincides with dimension of the variety. Additionally, we classify tangent spaces at regular points in the case of one derivation.

We sketch a rigorous derivation of Fourier's law from a system of closure equations for a nonequilibrium stationary state of a Hamiltonian system of coupled oscillators subjected to heat baths on the boundary. The local heat flux is proportional to the temperature gradient with a temperature dependent heat conductivity and the stationary temperature exhibits a nonlinear profile.

We fully elucidate the structure of the hierarchy of the connected operators that commute with the Markov matrix of the Totally Asymmetric Exclusion Process (TASEP). We prove for the connected operators a combinatorial formula that was conjectured in a previous work. Our derivation is purely algebraic and relies on the algebra generated by the local jump operators involved in the TASEP.
