although the right for intellectual property as a branch of legal sciences is absolutely recognized in the world, there is dispute among jurists and lawyers with regard to even some of its primary problems, such as sale of such properties in our country. surveying some conditions of sale contract which seem controversial at a glance, such as necessity of object of sale being subjective, and exp...

we consider a system consisting of a manufacturer serving several retailers. The manufacturer produces a standard product in a make-to-stock fashion in anticipation of orders emanating from n retailers. Orders from the retailers arrive in batches which sizes follow a discrete distribution. The production time is assumed to follow a k0Erlang distribution. Order inter-arrival time for class l dem...

Teaching mathematics in a high school and in a community college in the New York City, I have noticed that students grasp mathematical concepts more quickly and understand them better when a connection between the concept and the world of business is established. Students were visibly more interested and involved when business applications were presented first, laying the groundwork for technol...

IT IS OBVIOUS FROM his review of my book that J.H. Huebert holds me in genuine high esteem. This saddens him all the more for, in his view, I have squandered my talents on so unworthy a topic as Restoring the Lost Constitution: The Presumption of Liberty, which he characterizes as “an unfortunate waste of talent for a powerful mind such as Randy Barnett’s” (p. 108). While there is much that I d...

Sensitive Arecibo observations provide an unprecedented ability to detect nulls for an accurate pulse-modulation quelling (PMQ) analysis. We demonstrate that a number of conal pulsars show “periodic nulling” similar to the phenomenon found earlier in pulsar B1133+16.

The puzzling phenomenon of pulsar kicks, i.e. the observed large escape velocities of pulsars out of supernova remnants, is examined for compact stars with a strange quark matter core. The direct Urca process in quark matter is studied in the presence of a strong magnetic field. Conditions for an asymmetric emission of the produced neutrinos are worked out in detail, giving constraints on the t...

The web has become a major source of information to learn about a topic. With the continuous growth of information and its high connectivity, it is hard to follow only the links that are relevant and not to get lost in hyperspace. Our aim is to support people who read documents in a highly connected information space, helping them remain on focus. Our contextually-aware inbrowser text summarisa...

We report the discovery of an X-ray neb-ula associated with the nearby millisecond pulsar PSR J2124−3358. This is the first time that extended emission from a solitary millisecond pulsar is detected. The emission extends from the pulsar to the northwest by ∼ 0.5 arcmin. The spectrum of the nebular emission can be modeled by a power law spectrum with photon index of 2.2 ± 0.4. This is inline wit...

Information seekers often need to perceive the organization of the document content to find the destination in the information space. Much of this task involves navigating the information space. This article primarily delineates essential premises concerning navigation in information space. The paper also discusses how cognitive abilities, particularly spatial ability, affects user’s navigation...

INTRODUCTION Quantifying years of potential life lost (YPLL) highlights childhood causes of mortality and provides a simple method to identify important causes of premature death. METHODS CDC analyzed data from the National Vital Statistics System multiple cause of death files for 2000-2009. RESULTS An average of 890YPLL were lost each year due to unintentional injuries for every 100,000 pe...
