Real time computer graphics are limited in that they can only be displayed on projection screens and monitors. Monitors and projection screens cannot be used in live fire training or scenarios in which the displays could be physically damaged by trainees. To address this issue, we have developed projection systems using computer vision based color correction and image processing to project onto...

Three patients with clinical Alzheimer's disease were found at postmortem examination to have Lewy-bodies and Lewy-like bodies in the cerebral cortex and the pigmented brainstem nuclei. Neuritic plaques were found in neocortical areas but no neurofibrillary tangles. The distribution of cortical neuronal inclusions correlated with the proposed projection of dopamine terminals. Neuronal cell loss...

We do a qualitative study on the mixed initial-boundary value problem in the elastodynamic theory of microstretch bodies. After we transform this problem in a temporally evolutionary equation on a Hilbert space, we will use some results from the theory of semigroups of linear operators in order to prove the continuous dependence of the solutions upon initial data and supply terms.

We investigate the famous Hadwiger Conjecture, focusing on unconditional convex bodies. We establish some facts about covering with homotethic copies for Lp balls, and prove a property of outer normals to unconditional bodies. We also use a projection method to prove a relation between the bounded and unbounded versions of the conjecture. 1 Definitions and Background Definition 1. A convex body...

Abstract Established reduced‐order modeling (ROM) methods, for instance, Galerkin‐projection, approximate the solution by linearly projecting high‐dimensional spaces to a lower‐dimensional space spanned reduced basis. However, accuracy of these methods may be insufficient complex and multiscale simulations due restriction linear space. Alternatively, autoencoders (AEs) can used nonlinear dimens...

In most insects with olfactory glomeruli, each side of the brain possesses a mushroom body equipped with calyces supplied by olfactory projection neurons. Kenyon cells providing dendrites to the calyces supply a pedunculus and lobes divided into subdivisions supplying outputs to other brain areas. It is with reference to these components that most functional studies are interpreted. However, mu...

We discuss generalized proximity operators (GPO) and their associated generalized projection problems. On inputs of size n, we show how to efficiently apply GPOs and generalized projections for separable norms and distance-like functions to accuracy in O(n log(1/ )) time. We also derive projection algorithms that run theoretically in O(n log n log(1/ )) time but can for suitable parameter range...

Surfactant protein B (SP-B) is synthesized by type II pneumocytes as a proprotein (proSP-B) that is proteolytically processed to an 8-kD protein. In human type II pneumocytes, we identified not only proSP-B, processing intermediates of proSP-B, and mature SP-B, but also fragments of the N-terminal propeptide. By means of immunoelectron microscopy, proSP-B and processing intermediates were local...
