BACKGROUND The JAK2 V617F mutation has been noted in the cases of polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, and primary myelofibrosis patients. This mutation occurs less frequently in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and other hematologic diseases, such as myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS); myelodysplatic syndrome/myeloproliferative neoplasm, unclassifiable (MDS/MPN-U); and refractory anemia with ...
We have established a new method of HPLC analysis for the rapid separation from human serum and the quantification of 4-O-methylpyridoxine (MPN), which is contained in Ginkgo biloba seeds, and which, when consumed in large amounts, causes vomiting and convulsions. As a result of using IPCC-MS3 (GL Science, Tokyo, Japan), an ion-pair reagent, in the mobile phase, we succeeded in separating MPN i...
mpns including a heterogeneous group of clonal or oligoclonal hamtopathies characterized by proliferation and accumulation of mature myeloid cells. jak2 tyrosine kinase mutation is the most common molecular lesion identified in 90% of cases. jak2 is involved in epo signaling pathway, and mutations in it lead to epo-independent spontaneous phosphorylation. most tyrosine kinase inhibitors (tki) a...
The Prevalence of Bacteria Commonly Related to the Production of Mussels and Oysters in Saldanha Bay
Bivalve molluscs are a good source of high quality protein and perform important ecological functions. Their ability to bioaccumulate materials in their soft tissues makes them suitable aquatic species for biomonitoring environmental conditions. The discharge treated untreated sewage into the bivalve-growing areas is concern. aim this study was investigate prevalence bacterial microbiota shellf...
Covalent attachment of a microporous polymer network (MPN) on a gold surface is presented. A functional bromophenyl-based self-assembled monolayer (SAM) formed on the gold surface acts as co-monomer in the polymerisation of the MPN yielding homogeneous and robust coatings. Covalent binding of the films to the electrode is confirmed by SEIRAS measurements.
Inhibitors of JAK2 kinase are emerging as an important treatment modality for myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN). However, similar to other kinase inhibitors, resistance to JAK2 inhibitors may eventually emerge through a variety of mechanisms. Effective drug combination is one way to enhance therapeutic efficacy and combat resistance against JAK2 inhibitors. To identify potential combination pa...
Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) are multiple disease entities characterized by clonal expansion of one or more of the myeloid lineages (i.e. granulocytic, erythroid, megakaryocytic and mast cell). JAK2 mutations, such as the common V617F substitution and the less common exon 12 mutations, are frequently detected in such tumor cells and have been incorporated into the diagnostic criteria publ...
Introduction: Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN), including polycythemia vera (PV), essential thrombocythemia (ET), and myelofibrosis (MF), significantly impact patients’ quality of life (QoL). The symptom burden assessment continuous monitoring using the MPN Symptom Assessment Form Total Score (MPN-10) allows detecting symptomatic changes that may be signs disease progression can used as an in...
Myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasms (MDS/MPN) are hematological disorders characterized by both proliferative and dysplastic features. According to the 2022 International Consensus Classification (ICC), MDS/MPN consists of clonal monocytosis undetermined significance (CMUS), chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML), atypical myeloid (aCML), with SF3B1 mutation (MDS/MPN-T-SF3B1), ring sid...
