This paper presents the use of a three-phase four-wire shunt active power filter to improve quality in Department Industrial Electronics large enterprise from Romania. The specificity is given by predominant existence single-phase consumers (such as personal computers, printers, lighting and AC equipment). In order identify indicators ways them, an A-class analyzer was used record electrical qu...

Due to the rapid growth of non-linear loads, such as power electronic control equipments and Electric arc furnace (EAF) power quality problems such as harmonics and voltage flicker are introduced in the power system. It occurs because of the time-varying and nonlinear behaviour of the Load. Arc furnaces are used in industries for induction heating and welding. Hence an Electric arc furnace mode...

This paper introduces a multilevel STATCOM for electric arc furnace power quality enhancement. An eleven level cascaded multilevel converter is used to alleviate the impacts of an unbalanced arc furnace load. The STATCOM provides a power electronic-based means of embedded control for reactive power support.

in this paper, seismic behavior of the existing buildings equipped by friction dampers is studied. seismic performance of6-story, 9-story and 12-story steel buildings with damper and without damper were studied. the finite element modeling technique (sap2000 software) is used for analysis. time history analyzing was done to achieve this purpose. for nonlinear dynamic analysis, the responses of ...

pushover analysis is a simplified nonlinear analysis technique that can be used to estimate the dynamic demands imposed on a structure under earthquake excitations. one of the first steps taken in this approximate solution is to assess the maximum roof displacement, known as target displacement, using the base shear versus roof displacement diagram. that could be done by the so-called dynamic p...

progressive collapse is defined as the spread of an initial failure from element to element, eventually resulting in the collapse of an entire structure or a disproportionately large part of it. the current progressive collapse analyses and design methods in guidelines and codes focus on the alternate load path method. this method is suitable especially in the case of blast-induced progressive ...

Mathematical models representing the behavior of electrical loads are an important part any optimal power flow problem. The current state-of-the-art in unbalanced mostly considers wye-connected, constant loads. However, for applications such as conservation voltage reduction, it is crucial to model how consumption depends on network. This article develops a unified framework handle wide variety...
