Abstract Passively mode-locked lasers have been widely investigated as one of the effective methods to obtain ultrashort pulses. As an important part passively fiber lasers, exploration 2D material-based saturable absorber has become hotspots in ultrafast photonics recent years. Germanene, a novel Dirac material, with optical response and broadband absorption, is promising alternative material ...
ABSTRACT Thin films of indocyanine green J-aggregates in polymers have been prepared and their saturable absorption properties studied in a high intensity regime using a unique ultrashort pulse Ti:sapphire laser (10 fs) with a very broad bandwidth (over 200 nm at −20 dB). The samples showed a surprisingly high stability to irradiation, strong absorption bleaching, and wavelength dependent diffe...
Abstract Dissipative optical solitons of particle-like structures can form soliton molecules with striking molecule-like interactions. However, the experimental investigation in ultrafast lasers is still largely confined to bound states only two and far from being explored for molecular complexes. Here, reconfigurable switching complexes originating binding soliton-pair was demonstrated around ...
We present a detailed investigation on thickness-dependent third-order (?(3)) nonlinear optical properties of RF-sputtered WSe2 thin-films using ultrashort pulses centered at different excitation wavelengths. The single-beam Z-scan based in the visible spectrum reveals predominant Pauli-blocking effect led saturable absorption or limiting thin-films. study also explores dispersion susceptibilit...
We report the ultra-broadband nonlinear optical (NLO) response of Bi2TexSe3-x nanosheets produced by a facile solvothermal method. Our result show that the extracted basic optical nonlinearity parameters of Bi2TexSe3-x nanosheets, αNL, Imχ((3)), and FOM reach ~10(4) cm/GW, ~10(-8) esu and ~10(-13) esu cm, respectively, which are several orders of magnitude larger than those of bulk dielectrics....
Sub-picosecond optical pulses have been successfully generated using a novel monolithic passive colliding pulse mode-locked (CPM)l semiconductor multiple quantum-well (MQW) laser. Transform-limited pulse width of 830 femto-seconds is achieved at a wavelength of 1.5pm and a repetition rate of 80 GHz. The measured timebandwidth product is 0.31. A record high repetition rate of 350 GHz is also dem...
High quality GGG:Cr,Ca crystal for passive Q-switching Nd:garnet lasers has been grown by the Czochralski method. Thermal treatment of GGG crystals co-doped with Cr4+ and Ca2+ at different temperatures is investigated. The absorption spectra were resolved into different peaks, of modified Gaussian line-shape. Transition from octahedral sites to tetrahedral ones is thermally activated. An...
The linear and nonlinear optical response of a WSe2 monolayer is investigated by two-dimensional Maxwell plus time-dependent density functional theory with spin–orbit interactions. By applying chiral resonant pulses, the electron dynamics along high harmonic generation are examined at weak strong laser fields. shows intensity I = 1010 W/cm2, while complex behavior observed 1012 W/cm2. in terms ...
In this work, the optical absorption near the fundamental absorption edge of co-evaporated Ce0 -V20 films is studied. It is found that the fundamental optical absorption in these materials is sharp more like that expected for crystals. It is also found that as the V O content increases, the edge becomes less sharp and shifts towards higher wavelengths
