BACKGROUND Lateral ulnar collateral ligament (LUCL) reconstruction requires proper understanding and identification of anatomic structures about the lateral elbow. The insertion site of the LUCL is based on the supinator tubercle. PURPOSE To characterize the supinator tubercle relative to other surrounding anatomic landmarks. STUDY DESIGN Descriptive laboratory study. METHODS Computed tom...

BACKGROUND In recent years, a battery-powered bone marrow biopsy system was developed and cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to allow health care providers to access the bone marrow space quickly and efficiently. A multicenter randomized clinical trial was designed for adult patients to determine if the powered device had advantages over traditional manually-inserted needles in re...

Exoskeletons comprised of rigid load-bearing structures have been developed for many years, but a new paradigm is to create “exosuits” that apply tensile forces to the body using textiles and utilize the bodys skeletal structure to support compressive forces. Exosuits are intended to augment the musculature by providing small to moderate levels of assistance at appropriate times in the walking ...

The purpose of this research was to examine whether exercisers and nonexercisers are rated similarly on a variety of characteristics by a sample of randomly selected regular exercisers, nonexercisers who intend to exercise, and nonexercisers with no intention to exercise. Previous research by Martin Ginis et al. (2003) has demonstrated an exerciser stereotype that advantages exercisers. It is u...

different construction materials with different roughness used to make circular weirs highly affect surface roughness and, in turn, flow hydraulics passing over these structures.  in the present research, numerous experiments under different hydraulic conditions were performed on a physical model to study the effects of roughness on flow hydraulics over a circular weir. the flow hydraulics incl...

In this work, we study some geometrical properties of a stationary Gaussian field modeling the sea surface, using the energy spectrum. We consider the length of a crest and the mean speed of contours, which can be expressed as integrals over level sets. We also give central limit theorems for some of these quantities, using chaos expansions.

Objectives One of the economical ways of dental caries prevention is using fluoride containing toothpastes. For fluoride to be effective in toothpastes, significant amount of fluoride need to be in solution form. Global standard of fluoride content of toothpastes is 1500 ppm (part per million). This study aimed to determine fluoride content of some special toothpastes. Methods This research was...
