In this paper we introduce a sequential block iterative method and its simultaneous version with op-timal combination of weights (instead of convex combination) for solving convex feasibility problems. When the intersection of the given family of convex sets is nonempty, it is shown that any sequencegenerated by the given algorithms converges to a feasible point. Additionally for linear feasibil...

D. B. DILL’S (12) 1930s observations of humans working in desert heat made him skeptical of the high sweat chloride concentrations reported in the literature. At fault, he surmised, might be methods of sweat collection that “restricted opportunity for evaporation” (p. 763). For this reason, he developed whole body washdown (WBW) methods, which became de rigueur in his, and later in D. L. Costil...

TO THE EDITOR: All published comparisons of local sweat sampling techniques (e.g., filter paper, gauze, skin scraping, pipette, rubber glove, or arm bag collections) versus the whole body wash down method have reported that local samples contained higher electrolyte concentrations (4). The present paper by Weschler (5) provides a hypothetical mechanism for these findings [i.e., sweat leaches el...

aniv et a/ . (to be published), is that it arises from low energy (20-40 MeV) proton reactions on REE-rich interstellar grains. The reactions 139La(p.2a)' 32(:s(j3-)ll2Xe and 140Ce(p.n2a) 132Cs(j3-) 132Xe would be required to dominate. It is notewonhy that one of the few high temperature phases which is compatible with peak release temperatures above 1500 •c is perovskite. for" hich the REE hav...

High yields of agricultural produce is reached traditionally by the application fertilizers and/or pesticides. When soil saturated with pesticides, any pesticide addition to leaches and thus reaches underlying groundwater. Preventing further contamination remediation this type remains be a challenge. Although monitored natural attenuation has been shown as an ultimate solution for decontaminati...

Abstract A new low-energy and eco-friendly method for extracting lead from waste PbO-containing funnel glass is required. Conventional methods use either energy intensive smelting reduction at temperatures higher than 1273 K or involve phase separation of the glass, requiring an acid treatment to extract elemental Pb partitioned in one decomposed phases as 2+ ion. In this study, mechanism a uni...

Objective: Nowadays, financial distress prediction is one of the most important research issues in the field of risk management that has always been interesting to banks, companies, corporations, managers and investors. The main objective of this study is to develop a high performance predictive model and to compare the results with other commonly used models in financial distress prediction M...

This paper describes a method of identifying a set of crosstalk-induced delay faults which may need to be tested in synchronous sequential circuits. In this process, the false crosstalk-induced delay faults that need not (and/or can not) be tested in synchronous sequential circuits are also identify. Our method classifies the pairs of aggressor and victim lines, using topological information an...

Consider a sequential process where agents have individual values at every possible step. A planner is in charge of selecting steps and distributing the accumulated aggregate values among agents. We model this process by a directed network where each edge is associated with a vector of individual values. This model applies to several new and existing problems, e.g., developing a connected publi...

We establish the foundations of a lattice-theoretic model for a variant of communcating sequential processes. This technical report is not intended as a stand-alone work, but as a companion to a paper which defines the process algebra and describes its model. We give proofs for various theorems stated in that paper. In particular we prove that the axioms of the process algebra are sound.
