enhancement after contrast injection, with 4 lesions present, 10 min after contrast injection.(b) Image obtained by subtracting non-enhanced image initial image from the final image at 10 min improves visualization of simulated lesions. Arrow indicates lesion for which subsequent error calculation has been performed (see below) (c) signal intensity vs. time (SIT) curve curves associated with le...

background: the heterogeneous composition of the human body presents numerous tissue types and cavities with widely differing radiologic properties. the aim of the present work was to develop a low cost homogeneous and heterogeneous phantom and the absorbed dose were measured by ionization chamber for different radiotherapy treatment techniques and compared with treatment planning system absorb...

We study cosmological implications of a Lorentz invariance violating DGPinspired braneworld scenario. A minimally coupled scalar field and a single, fixednorm, Lorentz-violating timelike vector field within an interactive picture provide a wide parameter space which accounts for late-time acceleration and transition to phantom phase of the scalar field. Introduction Hyperpolarized noble gas MRI is able to provide useful information related to structural and physiological properties of lungs and lung diseases. To relate the measured parameters (e.g. relaxation times, diffusion coefficients, flow rate) to lung properties (e.g. airway diameter, surface area, connectivity) several mathematical and computer models have been proposed [1-3]. Validati...

Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA) procedure is now considered as a robust tool for estimating the seismic sidesway collapse capacity of structures. However, the procedure is time-consuming and requires numerous nonlinear response-history analyses. This paper proposes a simplified Modal Pushover Analysis (MPA) procedure for IDA of RC moment-resisting frames. The proposed method uses the dynamic...

Introduction Tumor hypoxia is well known to reduce cancer treatment efficacy [1]. Hypoxic tumor cells, which have decreased oxygen levels (pO2), are more resistant to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Dissolved oxygen influences the F magnetic resonance relaxation times of perfluorocarbons [2]. This property has been used in semiquantitative animal studies to image tumor oxygenation [3]. In this s...

Observations exploring the contemporary cosmic acceleration have sparked interest in dark energy models possessing equations of state with w < −1. We review how the cosmic expansion history of a Dvali–Gabadadze–Porrati (DGP) braneworld model with a standard brane cosmological constant can mimic that of ordinary 4–dimensional gravity with w < −1 “phantom” dark energy for observationally relevant...
