i ABSTRACT Studies investigating the development of perceived control and coping in the academic domain generally adopt an individual differences approach, reporting meanlevel changes in these and associated constructs. Very few studies attempt to chart the process by which these personal resources exert individual and combined influences on academic outcomes, such as motivation and achievement...

In this paper, we propose a new approach to emotional interaction of software agents with human users. The basic idea comes from Wallon’s theory of human primary development. By assuming an innate structure used in common with both sympathy and social conditioning, we propose a fundamental agent architecture. With this architecture, we make a few experiments, basically for testing conditioning ...

We hypothesize that an extensionwith-conditioning of Dempster-Shafer theory is suitable for encoding uncertainty and ignorance in the Relational Model. We present a formal and well-motivated definition of conditioning, and show the spirit of the required change in the Relational Model and some results that then follow. It remains to be investigated whether these results are satisfactory.

operations and mechanisms of classical conditioning has been carried out considering the conditioned response (CR) separately and by regarding it as the optimum way of measuring the behavioral manifestation of conditioning. There are fundamentally two theories which have attempted to explain the nature of this response. The theory of the Psicothema, 1998. Vol. 10, no 1, pp. 175-181 ISSN 0214 99...

The two-factor theory postulates that classical conditioning proceeds through two stages, which support successive acquisition of emotional and motor responses. Emotional conditioning is thought to facilitate the subsequent acquisition of the motor response. This form of interaction between the two stages of learning can be investigated while considering the central role of the amygdala and the...

The scattering equations on the Riemann sphere give rise to remarkable formulas for tree-level gauge theory and gravity amplitudes. Adamo, Casali, and Skinner conjectured a one-loop formula for supergravity amplitudes based on scattering equations on a torus. We use a residue theorem to transform this into a formula on the Riemann sphere. What emerges is a framework for loop integrands on the R...
