In this paper, we implement an approach for stereo matching. Our algorithm is based on the approach proposed in [1]. The algorithm suffers from a deficiency that the information crosses the disparity levels and hence leads to a plain image later. We suggest some results to improve the performance of the algorithm using some common segmentation techniques.

In this paper, we deal with the problem of how to apply the Hough Transform to the Stereo & Motion matching process . The purpose here is two-fold: The first objective is to see how the Hough Transform can improve the robustness of a matching process . The second goal is to see whether it is possible to relax any local constraints used by the matching process . In such a way, a general matching...

Unconstrained face recognition is a problem of fundamental importance in computer vision. We propose to address this problem by using stereo matching to judge the similarity of two, 2D images of faces. Stereo matching allows for arbitrary, physically valid, continuous correspondences. We show that the stereo matching cost provides a very robust measure of similarity of faces that is insensitive...

In this paper, a 3D reconstruction approach based on wavelet analysis and neural networks is presented. It can be used in neuro-vision system. The approach can be divided into two parts. First, the stereo matching problem is solved with wavelet analysis. Dyadic discrete wavelet analysis is adopted in this process and stereo matching process is realized with global optimization. A coherent hiera...

Previous monocular depth estimation methods take a single view and directly regress the expected results. Though recent advances are made by applying geometrically inspired loss functions during training, the inference procedure does not explicitly impose any geometrical constraint. Therefore these models purely rely on the quality of data and the effectiveness of learning to generalize. This e...

This paper describes a stereo algorithm which matches connected chains of edgels (curves) between images. It is based on representing the curves as elastic strings and measuring the amount of deformation the strings have to undergo to transform between corresponding curves, and incorporates the ideas of the disparity gradient and the fact that matching sections of curve have to be of a similar ...

Mutual information (MI) has shown promise as an effective stereo matching measure for images affected by radiometric distortion. This is due to the robustness of MI against changes in illumination. However, MI-based approaches are particularly prone to the generation of false matches due to the small statistical power of the matching windows. Consequently, most previous MI approaches utilise la...
