The DNA molecule is observed to be very susceptible to short-term exposures to an atmospheric pressure plasma jet. The DNA damage induced by plasma-generated species, i.e. excited atoms, charged particles, electrons and UV light is determined.

Using a waveguide microwave filter, the electron density in an argon plasma jet of dielectric barrier discharge was determined. The dynamic behavior during period applied voltage with frequency about 100 kHz 4 maxima average concentration, which are 10 13 cm -3 , were observed. Plasma concentrations of lignocaine and the clearance rates of technetium-99m were compared in 10 healthy volunteers after injection with a gas-powered jet system and a needle and syringe. The dosage was highly accurate with jet injection. Bioavailability was comparable for both methods.
